''A doctor forgot a scissors in my sister stomach after surgery and we lost her On the 28th March 2026 my sister okolie ngozi blessing ,went for a fibroid surgery at OAR medical center in ilepo abule egba ( igoke estate) ,which led to the beginning of of my sister dilemma .
The operation was said to be successful , Just 4 hours after the surgery, they gave her milk and Milo. 3 days after the surgery(on March 31st) my sister was complaining about serious stomach pain ,and her stomach started bloating ,we suggested that the hospital should run a scan to know what is going on but they refused telling us even if we do scan we can’t see anything that will cause for Alarm ,but the severe stomach pain didn’t stop .
After the back and forth for 10 days (April 7th) after the surgery they finially referred us to a clinic to do scan, and a nurse from the hospital followed,on getting to the clinic ,we found out they don’t even have a scanning equipment .
we decided to take her to another clinic to run a scan ,the nurse that followed was against it but we insisted .The scan result showed that they left An Artery forceps in my sister stomach .
We got back to the hospital showed them the result they decided on operating her immediately but as at then my sister was already too weak for another operation we begged them to refer us to a better hospital they refused and went ahead with the operation.
Two days after the second surgery, she was still weak, her stomach still swollen. We kept on begging them to refer her, but they refused
On April 11, around 3 a.m.when their fuel finished while she was on oxygen, and they said they don’t have fuel again. We took her out of OAR Medical Centre and drove her to LASUTH .
Six days before we took her out of the hospital Dr Abiodun Ojifinn, was nowhere to be found. Every time we called, he kept saying he would come the next day, but he never showed up.
At Lasuth, they asked us to pay for the ICU immediately which we did, and she was admitted. Just one day in the ICU, they told us her heart had stopped. My sister Blessing Okolie could no longer breathe''.

Medical accidents can happen anywhere in the world, but Nigeria is one of the worst plsces in the world for this sort of mishap to happen and for anyone to fall sick for that matter, reminds me of how CA lost one of her twins, Nigeria is a jungle EOF!
ReplyDeleteOh Lord have mercy! How does this even happen? I've heard about things like this before but I just don't understand how it is possible. Kai... What a painful way to go.
ReplyDeleteMay God give her family the fortitude to bear the loss.
May her soul rest in peace.
This is really terrible, what sort of negligence is this?
ReplyDeleteThey should be sanctioned by the NMA and charged to court.
Oh! God!, 😭😭
ReplyDeleteOh Lord
ReplyDeleteThat Doctor Should Be Arrested
Imagine The Pain She Has Gone Through Before Giving Up
Ahhhhhhhh 😭😭
Hello iya Boys
This is so sad to read😢. What kind of negligence is this bikonu? That doctor's license should be withdrawn.
ReplyDeleteThis is traumatizing, and I am to go see the gynaecologist this morning to discuss on my own surgery, oh God please help me.
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort her family.
Bv God's Favor
It shall be successful, void of complications in Jesus name.
DeleteMay God comes through for you…wishing you a successful surgery
DeleteGod will be with you. I wish you a successful surgery.
DeleteThey should sue the hospital and the useless doctors for every dime they have. Evil doctors. They don donate that one now.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad, may her soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Lord 😭😭😭 this is sad
ReplyDeleteThis is why any operation in Nigeria is a big risk. The negligence here is higher than that of other countries in the world because we don't have a good system in place that checks and punishes offenders appropriately.
ReplyDeleteThis is why most Nigerian women pray against CS during delivery.
May her soul rest in peace.
May the hospital and doctors involved be punished severely.
This is so sad 😭
ReplyDeleteMay Nigeria never happen to us
This is very painful, may her soul rest in peace 🕊️
ReplyDeletePeople die anyhow in this country 😭 God help your children 🤲
ReplyDeleteChai, so touching
ReplyDeleteMay her soul rest in peace
Hmmm,brings back memories for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is really sad,a life wasted due to the highest rate of negligence and carelessness.
Who asks a patient to drink milk and milo four hours after a high risk surgery?
I would still keep praising the expert team of surgeons(gynae)in kubwa general hospital. They know their work.
What??? This is traumatising 😢😢😢
ReplyDeleteMay her soul rest in peace. And may God grant her families and loved ones to fortitude to bear the loss.
