Prosecutors allege Suleiman killed Maryam to gain access to her inheritance, as she is from a wealthy family.
Police investigations reportedly linked Suleiman directly to the killing, describing it as a carefully planned act carried out shortly after the wedding.
The case, filed as culpable homicide under Kano State law, was presented by Aisha Habibu Hassan, who told the court the offence is capital and carries severe punishment if proven.
She requested additional time to obtain legal advice from the State Ministry of Justice, and noted the matter may be transferred to the High Court, which handles capital offences.
Presiding Magistrate Sadiya Zakirai granted the request and ordered Suleiman’s remand pending further investigation and legal review by the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
Family members of the deceased, who attended the court session, expressed grief and shock, calling for justice for the young woman whose life was cut short in pursuit of greed.
If the case proceeds to the High Court and Suleiman is convicted, he could face life imprisonment or capital punishment under Nigerian law.
This is the new trend in Nigeria now, Nigerian men marrying women for their wealth and killing them off. They will be calling women gold diggers and saying women love money but men are the biggest gold diggers ever liveth. Men don't love money but see how they have ruined Nigeria with their greed and selfishness.

ReplyDeleteAll the men in Nigeria and this is the one she ends up with. These wealthy women need to marry at their own level and do full investigation to make sure that who they are marrying is not having financial problems behind the scenes.
Exactly 💯!
DeleteI totally suport your opinion
@First Anon, you said it all!
ReplyDeleteI know about one that the man presented fake love to my friend's cousin. At first she said she was not interested to marry again, since she is already a mother of two grown up children (a girl and a boy), from her previous marriage...
The man was hell-bent; he did everything hu.anly possibly, (including black magic) to win her over.
Not knowing he was only after her wealth, as she was a successful international business woman with shops that were booming... He insisted that they have a joint bank account... After pressure from him, she obliged his request.
Once she accepted to get married to him, he started showing her shege... She regreted the marriage almost immediately. By the second year of the marriage it became impossible to continue with him. She offered to give him one of her shops as settlement... and filed for divorce... The man threatened
her, that she will not live to apear in court for the divorce process...
Guess what?
He struck her with spiritual sickness, and she was attending court proceedings from her sick bed... She eventually died from the mysterious sickness.
And now, the man wants to claim all her properties, all her accets and every thing she worked for, and leaving nothing to her children's name...
