A few days back, while having light talk with the wife, she asked me a question that got me thinking. Her question was this:
"Why don't married men who club, take their wives along with them?"

Like I said, we were in a jovial mode, having light talk or so I thought. My response however seems to have sent me to the doghouse for the near future. What did I say?
In my simple innocence, I said men go to clubs to unwind and take their minds off their problems and it would make no sense to carry a major source of those problems along. That response seems to have set off a nuke in my home.
Madam just replied 'okay' but from the looks of it, she is hell bent on treating my f*ck up. What has the world come to when a man can't say the truth anymore?
I'm not the club going type. I left that life over 13 years ago. At my age, going to the club to dance, I'll come off as nothing more than papalolo. But maybe I just take myself too serious. Madam is not even the club type. I gave her her first club experience when we were dating but she made it clear she'd rather stay home and watch movies then. So her recent question threw me off.
That said, there's nothing wrong with clubbing sha. When I used to go to clubs, I found the sights of husbands who brought their wives along, adorable. But I don't think clubs are a safe space for married couples. The place is teeming with freaks! Why will I want my wife in that environment? Which brings up another matter.
Yes, married men won't take wives to clubs but they are cool with taking side-chics there. That's fine I think.... the wife is the queen. The place of the queen is the home abi? You don't see the queen bee, the termite queen or the queen of the ants moving around anyhow do you? Na chinge dey move around. Settle madam. Make sure say she dey comfortable for house then go do your thing. I no say make you go cheat o!
Couples can do date nights. Arrange for someone to stay with the kids and then just go out to spend time alone with each other. This is very important to marital cohesion. But taking your wife to the club? Where alcohol loosens inhibition and boundaries? That's a hard sell for me.
Anyway, who knows? Maybe if I was still about that life, I'd probably not have any issues with taking the wife out clubbing. With my well extended pot belly and faded dance moves, I'm pretty sure we'd make the life of the party. That's assuming that I don't break any of my brittle old bones first.
Oh! What wouldn't I give to be young again.
There are nice places other than going to the club .
ReplyDelete😂😂😂 @faded dance moves.
ReplyDeleteYou no know say some questions na trap? Na joke but no carry am play o 😂😂😂
Marry your friend. When you marry your friend,, most issues will be half solved. Marriage does not have manual. Life is not that difficult when you understand your place.
ReplyDeleteIf your wife loves clubbing . By all means tag her along while going to club. If she does not like clubbing and does not see anything wrong in her hubby going to clubs, no wahala. Nothing says everyone that goes to club must go with a woman.
I personally hate clubs because of the loud sound.
I do not appreciate seeing men taking their wives to the club. There are better place to take them to than going to club.
ReplyDeleteNo reasonable man will take his wife to the club and if he does, then, that marriage might be heading to a wrong way one day.
I have a neighbor here in my compound that goes to club with his wife. They will have to put their little child with a friend/another neighbor. At times, when I check the husband's status, I'll see both in night club taking shisha, and the wife dancing so erotically in the presence of everyone there.
The question is, when the husband is tired of clubbing, will the wife also be tired at the same time or she will have to look for other means?
It's a crazy discussion shaa
I suggested to my husband to go clubbing one of these days, he seriously frowned at it. We're not the clubbing type though, just a middle age thing I guess

ReplyDeleteI’ve only been to a club once, and that was during my university days. It wasn’t even planned. It was someone’s birthday, and I didn’t even know the person.
We were at a joint drinking. I think the eatery was called “Filling Station.” Around 8 pm, a bus pulled up with over 15 ladies, all wearing white bum shorts and white tops. They pleaded with us to grace the birthday, saying the venue wasn’t far from the joint.
Who wouldn’t attend seeing those fresh beauties with good backsides? That’s how my guy and I ended up clubbing that night. I sha linked up with one baddie that rocked me wella on the dancefloor.
I ran away when she demanded 5,000 for a short time. There was room service available. Some guys went for it. The guys who couldn’t pay for a room and still pay the women did theirs at a bending corner inside the hall. Nobody cared about anyone else.
I saw people making out live without minding if they were being watched. But you couldn’t take a video or picture of it.
