The musician, known for the iconic gospel hit “Akanchawa,” walked listeners through how their relationship began, the challenges they faced, and why the union eventually came to an end.
Prince Gozie revealed that he met Njideka through a pastor after he mentioned he wanted a tall, fair woman. Their connection was quick and intense, and within months they were married.
They had three children together but behind the music and public admiration, Gozie said their marriage faced serious struggles from the very beginning.
He did not go into deep personal details but chose instead to protect certain parts of their story, but he made it clear that the challenges were real and heavy.
He emphasized that only he and Njideka truly know the full reasons behind their separation, and urged Nigerians to stop spreading unverified stories and assumptions. According to him, their divorce process lasted more than six months, and it was a difficult period for both of them.
Prince Gozie also spoke about his personal journey on how he started his music career at age 35, how fame came later in life, and how he is now focused on living peacefully, taking care of himself, and moving forward with gratitude.
The former couple remain unforgettable in Nigerian gospel music history. Their joint songs, especially “Akanchawa,” shaped an era and made them one of the most admired gospel duos. Although they had earlier reports of separation and even a brief reunion, the relationship ultimately did not survive.
