Senator Oshiomole Tells Senate President Akpabio “You Have Failed” Over Nigeria’s Insecurity Crisis

In a sharp exchange on the Senate floor, Senator Adams Oshiomole openly criticized Senate President Godswill Akpabio. He pointed to the rising cases of banditry, kidnappings, and other security problems happening under Akpabio’s leadership.

Oshiomole spoke during a discussion about recent attacks. He said the Senate under Akpabio had passed resolutions on security before that will make the armed forces accountable and allow the senate carry out due audit and oversight, but they were ignored. He also mentioned a reported snub from the military to the Senate leadership.
“This thing happened under your leadership. You have failed,” Oshiomole said clearly.
