She has filed a suit at the Lagos State High Court seeking the removal of defamatory social media accounts and an order stopping the cyberbullying and harassment targeted at her.
In the suit marked LD/10737GCM/2026, May is asking the court for a permanent injunction restraining certain individuals from posting harmful, threatening, or false content about her on Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and other platforms. She also wants the court to compel the deletion of those accounts and posts, and to mandate the platforms to reveal the identities behind the fake and anonymous handles.
Those named in the case include Yinka Omolola Theisen and Emeka Ugwuonye, who was once her lawyer. May alleges that they and others have been running a long campaign of lies, using edited photos, AI‑generated images, and defamatory posts to damage her reputation.
She says the attacks have affected her business dealings, strained her family, and continued despite legal notices sent last year.
The court has ordered that the suit be served through the defendants’ known addresses, emails, and online platforms. The case is still at an early stage.
