Justice Inyang Ekwo approved the ₦2 billion bail with strict conditions. Bodejo must produce two sureties who will each pledge the same amount.
One surety must own landed property within the Abuja Municipal Area Council, while the other must present tax clearance certificates for 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The court will verify all documents before release. Bodejo must also surrender his passport and cannot travel outside Nigeria or beyond the court’s jurisdiction without permission.
The case continues on October 5, 6, and 7, 2026.
Bodejo faces a 12‑count charge filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which alleges that he received about $2.63 million in cash from a former Accountant‑General of Bauchi State without passing the funds through banks as required by law.
The EFCC links the money to unlawful activities, including possible terrorism financing.
Bodejo pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court on July 9; 026 and remained in EFCC custody until today’s bail ruling.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore is a prominent group representing Fulani herders across Nigeria. Bodejo, its national leader, has also been active in politics, including a recent senatorial bid.
