Police Arrest Barber After Clay Pot Filled With Customers Hair Is Found In His Room

Police in Umuahia, Abia State, have arrested a barber identified only as Emeka after a clay pot filled with human hair and other items was reportedly found in his one-room apartment.

The arrest took place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, after Emeka’s neighbour, Mr. Johnson Ikenga, reported him to the Central Police Station, Umuahia, for allegedly threatening him. During a search of Emeka’s apartment, officers said they discovered the pot packed with shaved human hair and other fetish materials.

When questioned, Emeka admitted the pot belonged to him but could not explain what it was used for or where the hair came from. He was taken into custody by officers from the CPS Umuahia division.

The police paraded the suspect publicly, showing the pot as evidence while asking him to confirm it was found in his room. Authorities say the case is still under investigation, and the suspect will face charges once findings are concluded.

  2. Yet he lives in one room and looks malnourished too. So what is the essence of what was found in his room?

    3. It's confusing when I think about it. Let's assume he is not using it for himself, he's selling it, the money still does not show on him.
