Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has said the state is now at peace after a long period of political tension. In a clear message on July 22, 2026, he announced full support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 and also named Hon. Kingsley Chinda as his preferred candidate as the next governor of Rivers State.
He told supporters the time for fighting is over. “We have made peace in Rivers State,”
He explained that he has joined the Rainbow Coalition led by former Governor Nyesom Wike and urged everyone who believes in him to support the coalition and Chinda in the 2027 election.
This move comes after months of bad blood between Fubara and Wike.
