Speaking on the Senate floor, Oshiomhole said the minister should pay more attention to repairing old roads instead of proposing 20 new ones. He alleged a “manifest bias” in how road projects are distributed, especially between Edo and Delta states.
The senator listed several key routes that he said are still neglected, including the roads from Benin to Warri, Asaba, Auchi, and Okpene. He argued that these areas have been left out of the national budget for years despite earlier motions calling for action.
Oshiomhole urged the minister to take a more balanced approach and look at the country’s needs as a whole rather than favouring certain regions. He also noted that some of the progress made so far came through President Bola Tinubu’s direct intervention using tax credit funding, not through the ministry’s budget.

ReplyDeleteDave Umahi abandoned his primary duty and was looking for Peter Obi to debate with. Funny enough, it was Peter Obi that even drew attention to that bad road for the Minister of Works. Instead of fixing it, he flared up and took it as an attack.
