During a recent interview on Cool FM, he recalled the financial and emotional struggles that followed his vocal condition. He noted that the situation became so bad that he could not afford surgery at the time.
In his words;
"I was refunding so much money, I think I was refunding over $1 million and even after my surgery, I couldn't pay for the surgery, I had a show in Cameroon where they were paying me $110,000, among everything, that I refunded, that was the only hope because it was booked a year ahead, I did that and paid my bills, I was left with only $3,000 dollars after I had paid but it's like to be in a space and have the opportunity to go get that surgery, it's also something am grateful for.
No pun intended, Nigeria should do better with the hospitals cause I had to travel the world to find the right doctor to fix me eventually"
