DJ Chicken also wrote “I’m back” on his Instagram Story and went live with his girlfriend to declare his freedom, he said
“Please o avoid Kirikiri o, it is not a good place o. I was alone, no friend, no family. The food, hmm. Peller was in my cell before they released him”…“God bless our government. God bless Seyi Tinubu. I love you guys.”
DJ Chicken was arrested last Friday and remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being arraigned in Ogba, Lagos. He faces three charges including threat to kill, breach of peace, and violating the Cybercrimes Act. The charges stem from a video he posted on July 5, 2026, where he said President Bola Tinubu must not seek re-election or his son Seyi would be killed. DJ Chicken later withdrew the statement, saying it was a joke made for attention.
When the charges were read, he pleaded not guilty. The court granted him bail at ₦1 million with two sureties in the same amount. One surety must be a civil servant and the other a community leader with property in Lagos, both providing three years’ tax clearance, utility bills, NIN, and Lagos State Residents Registration Agency details. One surety must also be a blood relative.
