Let me give you an example from my own life.
A few years ago, I almost walked away from my marriage. Not because my husband had done anything wrong.
In fact, he had always been supportive and had never used my status against me. In fact he always avoid talking about it, anytime I bring it up, he'll just tell me, I shouldn't be bothering myself with it that God is in control
But there came a point when I became angry with everything and everyone around me. I wasn't thinking clearly, and I felt like I needed to escape from everything.
I told my husband I needed space.
He begged me not to leave. He tried everything he could, but I had already made up my mind. I left, or perhaps I should say, I ran, taking my last child with me.
Part of the reason I left was fear. I was constantly scared that I might infect my husband. Instead of allowing love, proper information and trust to guide me, fear took over.
We stayed apart for years.
Throughout those years, this man never gave up looking for me. He searched everywhere. He wanted his family back so badly that, according to what I saw, he became a shadow of the man he used to be.
Seeing him that way broke my heart.
But at the time, I was dealing with so many things inside me that I couldn't even explain properly. I was angry, afraid, confused and emotionally exhausted.
Looking back now, I realize that I wasn't simply trying to leave my husband.
I was running from myself.

I was running from myself.
I had allowed fear and the weight of my diagnosis to convince me that I was a danger to the person I loved, even though he had never treated me like one.
Thankfully, our story didn't end there.
Sometimes, when we talk about HIV, we focus so much on the physical side that we forget the emotional battle that can come with it.
The fear. The guilt. The stigma. The constant questioning. The feeling that you are somehow less deserving of love.
These things can affect the way a person thinks, behaves and relates to the people closest to them.
That is why people living with HIV need more than medication.
We need information. We need support. We need understanding. And sometimes, we need someone to remind us that our diagnosis does not make us unworthy of love or a normal life.

Thank God that phase ended well. Your husband is a good man. God bless him and bless your home.
