Kenyan police has arrested Jones Bogonko Onchonga, a married father of two, for allegedly impersonating a Catholic priest and conducting Mass in multiple parishes across Turkana County.
His act was exposed after photos surfaced showing him celebrating Mass beside Bishop John Mbinda. The Diocese later confirmed he is not a priest and warned the public against allowing him to perform any religious rites.
Onchonga has been charged with identity theft. He first pleaded guilty, then changed his plea to not guilty, and remains in custody after failing to meet bail conditions.
He reportedly used fake church documents to gain access to the Catholic Diocese of Lodwar, where he participated in services at three parishees.

ReplyDeleteHe should face the penalty of his crimes.
ReplyDeleteI doubt this will be possible in Nigeria. I don't know how the mother church operates in Kenya regarding Priest going to other parish to celebrate Mass.
