Nigeria's Super Falcons Fail To Qualify For 2027 World Cup

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have failed to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup after 36‑years of appearances.
On Wednesday, August 13, 2026,the team lost 2–1 to South Africa in the intercontinental playoff in Casablanca, sealing their exit after already missing automatic qualification at WAFCON.

South Africa struck twice through Thembi Kgatlana and Refiloe Jane, while Christy Ucheibe pulled one back for Nigeria in stoppage time but It wasn’t enough.
The Falcons created fewer big chances and struggled to match South Africa’s sharp finishing.
This marks the first time in history that both the Super Falcons and Super Eagles will miss qualifying for the World Cups in the same cycle.
The Nigerian football association needs to rebrand as soon as possible beause, WETIN BE THIS??????
