Gastélum, known for his comedy videos, was filming with two friends when two men on a motorcycle approached and one of them shot him at close range before fleeing.
Police initially mistook him for a delivery rider because he and his friends were wearing bright jackets and carrying delivery bags for a video challenge. His identity was later confirmed.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and cartridge casings recovered at the scene. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not disclosed a motive. It is also unclear whether Gastélum had received threats before the attack.
His killing adds to a growing list of social media personalities targeted in Mexico in recent years.

Mexico is just as it was during the Mayan times. Some horrible ancient practices travel on down through the bloodlines and show up in different ways. The culture was always about blood and bloodletting and it hasn’t stopped because its modern times. Folks born into certain cultures need to work tirelessly to ensure generational cycles do not show up again, sometimes that means making very difficult choices. Vigilance is needed because evil is like a virus it is always looking for someone new to infect so it remains alive.
