Gov Nwifuru Allegedly Threatens To Sack Council Chairmen Who Fail To Deliver To APC In 2027
Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru allegedly warned newly sworn-in local government chairmen that they will lose their jobs if they fail to deliver their council areas for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Governor Nwifuru reportedly allegedly made this statement at the Christian Ecumenical centre in Abakaliki while swearing in the leaders for the 13 local government areas. he emphasizing that any underperforming chairman will be replaced by a councillor, and urged the leaders across the 13 local government areas to actively mobilize grassroots support for the APC in 2027 rather than becoming complacent. Governor Nwifuru also advised vice chairmen to maintain loyalty, avoid political rivalry, and collaborate closely with their chairmen.
