Nigeria's 1st Lady Remi Tinubu Gifts Qur'anic Competition Winner With N20 Million
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has gifted N20 million to 19-year-old Maryam Ibrahim Dan’Azumi, for winning the women’s category at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Qur’anic Competition in Saudi Arabia.
Maryam, from Gombe State, beat contestants from 132 countries after memorizing the entire Qur’an with Tajweed and Tafsir. She had earlier won N120m prize money in Saudi. Senator Tinubu who received her on Tuesday at the Villa with Governor Inuwa Yahaya and her father, described her as a pride to the nation and an inspiration to the girl-child, and pledged to support her postgraduate education.
