Patience Ozokwor Warns Parents Against Over Pampering Their Children...

Veteran actress Patience Ozokwor has advised parents to stop over pampering their children, warning that it could harm them later in life.

She said children should be allowed to face the realities of life and understand the process of achieving success. According to her, this does not mean parents should make their children suffer, but they should let them experience life as it is. When children learn the value of hard work, she said, they appreciate what they have.

Patience added that overpampered children from wealthy homes often grow up entitled and may even fight over inheritance. But when children are properly trained, even in rich families, they can grow up to become better than their parents because they understand that success does not come easily.

  2. Making your children learn that situations change is not a bad thing. It can change for good or for bad. Preparing them for either of the two is the best thing you could do for them

  4. I read about this labour bootcamp in China for Chinese kids:
Chinese parents are paying thousands of yuan to send their children to rural "hardship camps" to perform farm labor and learn the value of hard work. What Are Hardship Camps? The Activities: Children do heavy farm work like digging and selling potatoes, chopping firewood, stripping bark, and feeding livestock. The Cost: Parents pay high fees—over 4,000 yuan ($600 USD) for a 10-day program and more than 10,000 yuan ($1,400+ USD) for a month-long stay. The Rules: Phones are confiscated, and food or supplies depend on completing daily work targets; failing tasks can result in meals consisting only of potatoes. The Locations: Most camps are based in southwestern rural regions like Sichuan, Guizhou, and Yunnan.

  5. That is why we have irresponsible men and women everywhere. True talk mama. May the parents that trained their children very well live to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Amen.
