GOD OF SECOND CHANCES

After suffering a humiliating defeat, God gave Joshua a second chance at victory: 'Arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land' (Joshua 8:1 NKJV). The king of Ai, still strutting with pride from victory number one, set out for victory number two. He marched towards Joshua, leaving the town unprotected. Joshua's elite squad charged in and set fire to it. And Joshua reversed his course, catching the army of Ai in the middle. The victory was complete.
Contrast Joshua's two attacks. In the first attack, Joshua consulted spies; in the second, he listened to God. In the first, he stayed home. In the second, he led the way. The point? God gave Joshua a new plan - 'Try again, my way.' And when he followed God's strategy, victory happened. It always does!
Perhaps you, like Joshua, have suffered a humiliating defeat. If so, here are two things you need to know:
(1) Don't give up on God, for he won't give up on you. 'Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon' (Isaiah 55:7 NKJV).
(2) God will give you another chance. Jonah ran from the call of God, but God wasn't through with him. 'Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh"' (Jonah 3:1-2 NKJV). He did. And what God did for Joshua and Jonah, he will do for you if you turn to him.

There is absolutely nothing in this universe like the love of God. Nothing.

A love so encompassing....It surrounds everyone and everything, leaving no one behind. It knows no boundaries, no conditions, and no end. It does not look at your past, your mistakes, or your flaws. Instead, it looks at you and sees a masterpiece worth saving. It is a constant, steady anchor in a shifting world.
A love so deep....It reaches down into our darkest secrets, our deepest regrets, and our hidden pain, offering healing instead of blame.
A love so patient....It never gives up on you, even when you run away from it or doubt its existence. It waits for you to return with open arms.
A love so relentless, ..it pursues you even when you are running away from it. You cannot outrun it, you cannot hide from it, and you cannot make God love you any less. It is not based on your performance or how "good" you are. It is based entirely on who He is.
A love so protective....It acts like a shield, guarding your heart and mind even when you do not realize you are being protected.
A love so giving...It does not hold back, offering peace, joy, and hope as free gifts to anyone who asks.
A love so transforming....It does not leave you the way it found you. It gently breaks down your fears and builds up your strength, turning your pain into a beautiful purpose
A love so secure....You do not have to perform, achieve, or pretend to earn it. It is already yours, fully and freely, right where you are today.
A love so permanent...People may change, leave, or let you down, but this love never fades, never walks away, and never ends.
A love so free...You do not have to earn it, and you cannot buy it. It is given simply because you belong to Him.
When you finally realize how much God loves you, the heavy burdens you’ve been carrying just seem to melt away. You stop trying to prove yourself to the world because the creator of the universe has already called you worthy. It is an endless, bottomless ocean of grace. Love wey no dey disappoint. It is the only love that can truly satisfy the empty ache inside our souls. If you are reading this today and feeling unloved or forgotten, please know that the creator of the universe is madly in love with you, just as you are..
