Sokoto State Government has debunked a report alleging that 18 students of Gamji College of Health Technology, Sokoto, were abducted by suspected terrorists while travelling to Oyo State. The government described the report as false, saying no student of the private health institution was abducted. The clarification was contained in a statement issued in Sokoto on Monday by Malam Abubakar Bawa, Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House.

Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of Freedom Park on Lagos Island from Monday, October 5, to Sunday, October 11, 2026, to allow for scheduled maintenance, clean-up, fumigation and upgrade works.

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture said the temporary closure was necessary to facilitate the planned works aimed at improving visitors’ experience and preserving the historic facility.
