Ushie said his marriage was already troubled, with what he described as infidelity on his wife’s part. Still, he believed a fresh start abroad would heal the cracks. The family secured permanent residency, and he paid two years’ rent upfront.
He resigned from his banking job so he could join them later.
His wife, from Obuloku in Delta State, travelled first with their four children while Ushie remained in Nigeria for almost a year because his bank needed him to complete an audit.

When he finally flew to Calgary in November 2014, he said his wife blocked him completely refusing to give him the address where she and the children were staying. He said he was stranded at the airport with nowhere to go.
He used his return ticket to come back to Nigeria. He later delayed returning to Canada while pursuing compensation from the Lagos State government over a demolished house and waiting for money from a business. He has remained in Nigeria since around 2016.
Today, Ushie describes himself as homeless and alone for more than a decade, saying his wife also cut off all communication between him and their children.
Despite everything, he says he is still open to reconciliation if his wife wants it. He is considering writing to the Canadian government to explain what happened and hopes his children will one day see his video and understand the sacrifices he says he made , paying for their passports, flights, and rent so they could start a new life.

All these kinds of men, where do they come out from? If i am the wife i will never reach out to him or settle...After so many years, he had to add that infidelity part to disgrace her out of silence? And with the same mouth he wants to settle if she wants? to go back to a cheating woman? Oga leave her alone and move on please...Like you said your kids will see this one day and if they want to, they will contact you!

I pray your kids see this video.

As men always say in issues concerning their fellows ‘let’s hear from the other side first’.
ReplyDeleteInfidelity is one of many false accusations to abuse women including gold digger and juju.
ReplyDeleteThis man sef. After all you claimed the woman did, you are still open for a reconciliation if she wants it.
ReplyDeleteIt is well with your soul.
He's a finished man. Don't pity him. All sufferings are lessons to those that want to learn.

ReplyDeleteSome men never learn. I have no strength for advice anymore. Learn or you perish. I have no pity for him. You already knew she was unfaithful and you still trusted her with something as serious as Japa. Holy Moses!
ReplyDeleteA cheating woman is a dangerous woman when caught. You will suffer the consequences of catching her. You were even lucky to be alive. An unfaithful woman who is caught would rather be a widow than be divorced. Choose your poison wisely, I say this to any man with an unfaithful wife.

Which woman leaves a good, adorable husband stranded at the airport?
ReplyDeleteImagine him accusing her of infidelity! Can he swear he was faithful throughout the duration of their marriage?
Mtscheeeeeeeeeewwwww!!!!
Thank you! Seriously, can people just read between the lines.
DeleteHmmmm, by the time the wife will come out with her own story, everywhere go scatter.
ReplyDeleteWishing him all the best and hopefully his four kids reach out to him
Stella,
ReplyDeleteYou made the above comment because you assumed that all men are the same. That "no man" will remain with a cheating wife. You're wrong my dear sister. Very very wrong.
There are men who still live with a cheating partner and chose not to fragment their homes. They do it quietly whether or not there was a scandal.
My aunt was caught by her husband twice cheating but he forgave her and remained married to her until he passed at the age of 78. My aunt is also deceased now.
And please, don't assume that the man also cheated because he didn't. He just wasn't the type to jump into women. He told me at the time that outside his wife, other women irritated him. I lived with them.
Some people are wired that way whether men or women. They love, and they love hard.
Some men even knowingly raised children their cheating wives brought home. The difference is that at the time, and on the part of the men, this was the exception, not the rule.
So forget generalizations. Forget public opinions, these things happened in the past, and might happen again.
When I worked in oil and gas, one of my bosses didn't want to discard his wife despite her cheating ways because he had four daughters and didn't want to raise them in a divided home without the presence of both parents. He feared for the impact on his girls.
In my nearly years of life experience, I have seen a lot of these things happen.
The easiest way to end a marriage experiencing cracks is for one partner to japa. End of discussion!
ReplyDeleteSome women get mind sha, keep a man's kids from having access to him? That's a big NO! for me.
ReplyDeleteLive the kids out of your issues.I see women always using the kids as a revenge/spite thing. O wrong abeg.
Men are learning hard way...........
ReplyDeleteFor him to say he still wants reconciliation after what the woman did says a whole lot.
ReplyDeleteOga open up and tell us the whole story.
