The Federal Government has opened talks with electricity distribution companies on plans to establish Energy Zones that will provide 24-hour electricity supply to homes, businesses and industries in major demand areas.
The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, met with representatives of selected electricity distribution companies to discuss the proposed zones, which will cover the Lagos axis, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano and Enugu-Port Harcourt corridors.
The initiative is aimed at improving electricity distribution and ensuring that available power reaches consumers more reliably, especially in areas with high commercial and industrial demand.

ReplyDeleteFor a nation with innumerable resources this press release is bullshyt. It’s a relief for many I’m sure but in 2026 so freaking lame, just do it without the big announcement, acting as though this is something groundbreaking and revolutionary. I was born in a small island nation that has no significant natural resources and 24 hr electricity has been a reality since the 1970s in all major cities. There is nothing remarkable about Nigeria giving its citizens this when some nations have been enjoying this since the 1950s. Don’t let them sway you because of coming elections. Use your heads and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteIf I should fully express how I feel about African leaders and their black hearts we go be here all day. In the age of smartphones and neural ink making paralyzed ppl walk again, this is where it’s at in Nigeria. Mtsscchhwww
You are speaking for yourself. Some areas are yet to experience that.

DeleteAll I can say is that there is a great improvement in the power sector, unlike before that you would pay and you won't get the service, even though the cost is too high.
