I mean, one is saying, "Lord, I'm in your presence," and the other is saying, "Guys, look at this ministration!"
We see this every Sunday in Nigerian Churches but you can never find anyone in a Mosque bring out phones....
I saw a video where the Preacher was telling them to keep their phones and they recorded her saying it and posted Online as well......
Do you find this habit OK? Or are you part of the recorders and snappers?
Some even tell people to record them and they begin to speak in tongues and act for the camera..in church oh!
Lets gist!

I see them scrolling Instagram and WhatsApp too, sometimes for long. I don’t know if they will remember any of the service. At least they are physically there and something may reach them in the presence.
ReplyDeleteSocial media addiction is breaking all rules of etiquette. A close relative who lambasts social media all the time was at the dinner table watching her YouTube video, as though she was home alone. I had to call her out and she turned it off. The thing is children were at the table. So many parents and respected relatives are teaching these young ones horrible habits while they sit and talk disparagingly about young ppl of today, all while painting themselves as paragons of virtue.
it is a dishonouring act before the King of kings and Author of the Universe, the one who by a snap of his fingers can take ones breath away.
ReplyDeleteWe won't do these things before our employers or before the BAT, so why do we do it before the Lord. Very disrespectful behaviour.
I don't like to be photographed in the house of God,where I want to be absolutely broken and vulnerable to my creator.i am a genuine worshipper and completely sold out for christ. Thank you Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI just prefer watching services online these days,I don't like distraction during worship, sometimes I get lost in tears, when iam worshipping, most cases that is when the camera will zoom in. Some will be recording videos during praises, not cool at all😌
ReplyDeleteWe can speak about this all day long, it’s disgusting! Once it’s time for praise people bring out their phones and. video themselves dancing then give to their friend beside them to video another angle of them. No reverence for God at all.
ReplyDeleteThe church’s is also a culprit of this bad behavior. My church has a red carpet you walk through to get in with a dozen hostesses standing with mobile phones snapping your every move like you’re in a club. You’ll think that’s all, no way, once they see anyone dancing well or in deep worship they come and stand in front of them with same phone videoing, motivating the person to perform more for the cameras. We’ve turned the church to a club even the lighting has become like a club, if you sit from the 3rd row backward you can’t read the print of your Bible. The other day I was ushered to a seat and wanted to put my purse down in front of me I hit my lip on the chair in front of me. Like why does it have to be dark, who taught us all these.
There's a church I've been avoiding not because I want to but cos of this .
DeleteAlso sometime this year I attended a church program and I was more than uncomfortable cos everyone was busy taking pictures and making videos I couldn't concentrate .
Very bad. Even the churchs media I dont like. Like im in the presence of God allow me to express myself, not seeing myself plastered all over the place. So im always so conscious because I don't want anyone taking videos or pictures of me.even the church media personnels
ReplyDeleteI think this should be addressed I understand that it's important to stream a service or have great captions but this whole thing is crazy.
DeleteIt is well
ReplyDeleteWhat ever rocks their boat. I think anybody recording anything in church have a valid reason for doing so. Little things like that doesn't bother me, the most important thing is that you shouldn't miss the my message while recording.
ReplyDeleteYou see this particular topic eh.. it has to be had and broadcasted all over. I find it very distracting and annoying when the church media team will stand in front of me and be recording nonsense. Its sooooo annoying.. why will someone's phone even be on in the church? I am not a Muslim but I can bet you that this kind of thing won't happen in the mosque. Because they hold their Allah in very very high esteem so disrespect is not tolerated but we Christians? Leave matter o.. God help us.
ReplyDeleteIt's ia no no for me.
ReplyDeleteYou can't be truly busy with God and have time for such
This filming of a thing in the name of creating content is making them go crazy. Imagine going to the church while the service is going on and you start filming because you want to post it on social media to get viewers reactions.
ReplyDeleteThough shaa it depends on the churches that allow such.
Ever since they monetized social apps, many 'na aghozi ara' online.
This topic really needs to be addressed but where do you even start from when the church Facebook page is chasing monetization. So,the media needs to get people from all angles, pass papers during Mass/service just for clicks and money.Individuals themselves are not helping matters too,you see people sharing crying pictures of themselves in church and you begin to wonder what's actually happening.I hate it and wish we can return to the old days of serenity and sanity in God's house
