Saturday In House Gists --Helping Family Members And their Entitlement Mentality

In many families, one person sometimes ends up carrying everybody’s financial load and that is OK for some but let us talk....
Who should be responsible for helping a struggling family member , the parents who birthed them, or the siblings they grew up with? And at what point does help turn into entitlement? At what point should one stop helping when the receiver becomes entitled to the help they are getting?
Let’s talk.
Where should the responsibility truly fall?

  2. This is 😧..

It's so funny when an adult couldn't pay his children's school fees. He stays in a free home and couldn't foot the nepa bill.
Each time the younger brother says no to his request, he will start saying trash about his brother. Someone you didn't send to school ooo. He suffered all alone and mercy found him and he traveled out of the country. Few years later, he decided to start helping his brother but entitlement mentality of his brother has destroyed their relationship.

    It's a pity shaaa

  3. “My friend, who works as a land agent, made ₦2,000,000 from a deal involving his elder brother.

His elder brother, who lives in China, wanted to buy land in Nigeria.

Instead of contacting my friend (his younger brother), he reached out to someone else.

He did this deliberately to hide the transaction because, a few months earlier, my friend had asked him for money and he had refused to help.

The agent the brother contacted happened to be a close friend of my friend.

The land they sold him was actually still under my friend’s custody.

So my friend was directly involved in the deal without his elder brother knowing.

He told the agent to add an extra ₦4,000,000 to the price of the land.

After the sale went through, my friend made a clean ₦2,000,000 without doing any real work”

A land agent made ₦2 million from his elder brother's secret land purchase after being bypassed in the transaction

  4. I don’t see anything with a family member who can comfortably afford to help their struggling siblings or parents, actually helping out!

Personally, I cannot see my siblings struggling to pay their kids fees and not do it! I just can’t!

Some call me an enabler and I honestly don’t care! I will continue to lend a helping hand to my siblings for as long as I can and as far as they need it!

It does help that I don’t have siblings that act entitled or that are not deserving!

  5. When, when I have, I help. If I don't, I face front. But one thing is certain, when I notice you are becoming entitled, I quickly start looking for ways to cut you off. Entitlement breeds envy, and once it gets to that stage, they start looking for ways to harm you!
