ReplyDeleteGood luck to them it's not very easy to penetrate into the already established markets in Kenya unless they are bringing in a new sector. The South Africans have tried countless times and failed miserably. They tried to bring Castle breweries to Kenya did not even last a year Kenya breweries and East African breweries have such a strong hold on that market the South Africans had to take their beer to Tanzania. They have managed to bring Shoprite to far away West Africa but Kenya which is literally next door they have not been able to penetrate because the country already had their own established supermarket chains with branches in neighboring countries. All the best to the Nigerian investors study the market well well Kenyans are very hard to please and are quite loyal to tried and tested brands they have always known. Deacons Kenya had to buy franchise rights for Mr Price, Woolworths and the rest that is the only way these SA companies managed to even get some recognition in Kenya.
