Obasanjo Versus Jonathan - Should Jonathan Reply Or Keep Mute?

By now we must have all read the now very viral and controversial Obasanjo's letter to Jonathan, the sitting President of the FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF Nigeria...if you missed it,read it HERE

.....President Jonathan has said he will reply that long letter at the appropriate time but no one knows when that time is...

Time is slowly going by and waits for no one, should the president address the accusations levelled against him by Nigeria's ex president Obasanjo or should he tow the ''silence is the best answer......''mode?

What is your take on this? Remember that if the president keeps quiet he is guilty as served and if he replies it might just rope him in the more, cause more controversy and distraction and probably show the real state of mind of the man sitting on the seat of power..

So....reply or keep mute?

    3. Taking cue from Pastor Biodun's incident, saying we will reply at appropriate time is indirectly saying we are never gonna reply'!....tanks to Pastor B for originating this trend, next time u want to fight and run away, use the statement:'I will reply at appropriate time'lol!

  3. I'm a staunch supporter of GEJ but I am really fed up with his stupidity and naivety, how dare obj write such a malicious and seditious letter to a sitting president, stella I'm really surprised at you. GEJ has to reply, fire for fire, blood for blood but Mr goody goody has gone to have breakfast with obj in Kenya, even if strong voltron are embarrassed, he said nobody should attack back. Is it not obvious that this frustrated politicians are trying to bring down his government, first it was tambuwal then Sanusi and now obasanjo. Stella have u read that 18page letter, what has GEJ ever done to you people that all you do is call him names and disrespect him. Is it because he is from the south south? Or suddenly atiku and OBJ care so much about nigeria that they ruined? Please you people should please give him a break. Can anybody insult OBJ like that without going to jail. OBJ ought have arrested Imo. OBJ even mentioned the fact that GEJ allowed free and fair election in Lagos,Edo,Anambra,Ondo instead of rigging election for pdp..does that even make sense. Stella you an isoko girl, hailing OBJ saying spot on. That's is why we will continue to be a minority in Nigeria. When yar adua was ill and his wife was ruling nigeria literally, the north came together and fought so GEJ won't be made acting president but now southerners like you and Amaechi are helping the enemies bring down GEJ. Power has improved, so as agriculture, the railway, our GDP has gone up, yes fight on corruption has slowed down but can you people just see the positives for ones. You all might call me a bigot but the earlier we realise that Nigerian politics is full of sentiment the better for us. I wasn't paid to write this, I am just an observant ijaw girl.....xoxo

    1. Correct! When OBJ Was the president he enjoyed his tenure without criticism from the west and north. Now they just want to fustrate his Government. I only blame GEJ because OBJ and some other big shorts should in jail by now

    2. Ur being an Ijaw person explains y u gave dis response. which power has improved? Wat happened to our foreign reserve? How come it depleted in such a short time? Y r u bringing Amaechi into it? Come to PH and see wat he has done. Wat has GEJ done? He couldn't even complete East West road. How far with the bullet proof car scam? As far as am concerned, GEJ is yet to deliver.

OBJ never knew things will be like this. I'm sure he must have asked himself " if i die , what will i be remembered for aside beign a president "? Seeing Mandela's memorial . They have failed nigerans .LET THE BEST MAN LEAD IRRESPECTIVE OF PARTY OR TRIBE.GOD SEE US THROUGH AMEN

    5. AnonymousDecember 13, 2013 at 8:35 AM, your comment is unbelievable! So because Stella is an Isoko, she should endorse GEJ's mediocrity? This is the kind of myopic and tribalistic thinking that has kept Nigeria a million years behind its peers. What a shame.

    6. U said Nigeria is full of tribal, ethnic and religious sentiment when u are the biggest of them bigots aka ijaw gal!
Are u talking of how to improve naija or why pple should not accuse Jonathan cos he's ur bros even if deep in ur heart u know hes messing up?
Loose urself from ethnic sentiment only then can we move forward!

  4. He should take his time that's the best thing

  5. He should present his own 18 page robust response and this should not take a lifetime like Pastor Biodun's.

He should address the issues raised like an intellectual and not resort to abuse, insults or cover ups.

    1. Thank u o. If I talk now, some idiots will say I have come again. Like the numb skull that asked if his/her mother was born blind, under the OBJ thread yesterday, just cos I shared my views. Nonsense. GEJ should better respond.

  6. President Jonathan should nt reply. If he does, it will only prolong d fight. He should just keep silent. Even if he is guilty.

  7. GEJ please don't descend so low to the level of that less human.

  9. Anon 8.35 am, how is Stella helping the enemies bring Jonathan down? I agree with most of what you've said though. The Nigeria that obj almost ruined is the one he is suddenly concerned about? Shiooor!

    ReplyDelete
  10. GEJ should keep mute joor! Guilty or nt replying may just prolong d issue. When OBJ z luking for 3rd term did anyone write him an 18page letter? Whatever Jonathan decides to do should b behind d scene

    ReplyDelete
  11. 4 obj to write an 18 page letter to d president shows how jobless he is. Gej 4get him d man is pained carry on but watch it n pray to GOD 4 guidance

    ReplyDelete
  12. GEJ should ignore him and stay focused. OBJ letter is sort of a distraction, they should quit pressurizing GEJ and allow him rule. I'm so sure OBJ never had such a strong opposition during his tenure so why wouldn't he let GEJ be? Well i wish GEJ Goodluck nd he should remain focused

    ReplyDelete
  13. I don't think he should reply. I don't think OBJ's letter deserves to be acknowledged in the first place becuase during his tenure as president, he didn't perform any better than GEJ.
I'm not saying GEJ is doing so fantastic, inshort I'm also disapointed in his government but we all know that he has never been given a fair chance to do his work. Distractions here and there. This OBJ's letter is another form of distraction and I will be glad if GEJ ignores him and his foolish letter. Can you imagine OBJ acting holier than thou? RME* Nonesense! All these old men should go and rest. Since I was in nursery school it has been the same people in Government, I'm now an adult with my own children and yet Nigeria is not getting any better. Nigeria needs fresh blood period.

  14. excuse my typo..... Power has improved, if it hasn't were u live, it will definitely get to you...its a gradual process, I live in ph and I know everything he has done and I have gone to akwa ibom state and seen better, in terms of durability and quality. What Amaechi buying a private jet with the state's money in a sham name, suddenly that is ok because he is anti jonathan rightor the monorail project? be true to yourself please. stop lying about east west road please, from akwa ibom to that onne area is completed and from warri to bayelsa working is going on seriously they are having problems with bayelsa because its swampy. what about benin-ore? the airports. There is no bullet proof car scam9its still under investigation) and Oduah didn't break any law and we have had worse scam like the haliburton and etf scam in the past and nothing has been done. We should not expect a miracle in three years. GEJ might be slow but not stupid or clueless as the media portray him.

  15. Oh please spare us the trash talk! You have no argument here at all! . Here in Uyo (Ewet Housing, estate) it has increased from 2-4hrs of half-current power supply to 6hrs solid supply. In PHC where I also own a home [Ada George], everyone is struggling to cutover from the state distribution lines to Federal cos those of the later enjoy waaay more hrs of power supply its not funny. And in Taraba where I worked, I enjoyed SOLID 22-24hrs CONSTANT POWER SUPPLY. Things are not perfect, but there's been remarkable improvements thanks to the good works of Team GEJ. More power stations have been commissioned and more are still being built, and our transmission and distribution systems have been repaired and expanded on. Shouldnt GEJ be commended for that?

  16. Thanks for reminding us of the murder of his friend Bola Iga. All effort to reveal the killer (I think some other prominent individuals too) were frustrated by this same most ugly senior fool of our time. Do you hear that Obasanjo supporters? Can you supporters of Obasanjo think of any evil on earth that worse than killing a very close friend? Obasanjo should not worry. Those who kill by whatever means will also go and die by whatever means

  17. Indeed there is endemic corruption in the land! Created by Buhari, planted by Babangida, natured by Abacha, discarded by shonikan, modified by Abdusalam, adopted by Obasanjo, rephrased by Yar'adua and being followed up by : Lamido, Farouk, Gej, Tambawal etc. Quit blaming Gej, he is just a follower like u.

If na country wey things dey work, Obj for even commit sucide dan killn himself like this

Can't u see shortly after the 'meanest letter of all times', ASUU called off strike?it is working and hope it continues!

  19. Yes some of what he embellished are not far from the present administration manned by GEJ but OBJ lack the moral stand to write such letter. Those who come to equity must come with clean hands. I can't agree any more to the ranting of OBJ. Yes there's corruption in the present government but GEJ has not been in any way directly involved in the scandals, but during the sermon preachers' era, he was fully involved directly to high level corruption and bleeding of the country. How soon can we forget the Halliburton scandal, the power integrated project scandal, the Siemens scandal etc. These are multi billion dollars high-level international scandals. Most of the antecedents of OBJ are really glaring and mind blowing. Nigeria did not bleed when Obasanjo Farms broke world records by rising from a mediocrity to a company grossing 200, 000 USD (30 million naira) daily within 8 years of Obasanjo's administration. Nigeria did not bleed when 2.5 billion USD (365 billion naira) went down the drain unaccounted for in the name of road construction.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Did I hear OBJ mention of using military might to the deal with BH? How soon can we forget Odi and Zakibiam massacre? How many plane crashes did we experience during the 8 years brutal manning of Aso Rock by the now crusader of a good governance? How soon the lives of an average citizen become so important to Obasanjo? How Baba Iyabo has become a saint as he painted himself? Going by ObJ’s antecedents, he has no moral right to advice GEJ that Nigeria is bleeding, knowing that he is the architect of the present woes and he contributed incalculably in giving Nigeria the cut that led to the bleeding. The letter coming on the euphoria of Mandela's death is designed to making people see him as a saint.

  21. I blame GEJ for not biting fingers to make name for himself. In a sane country OBJ, Atiku, IBB, and Abdulsalami would have been languishing in kirikiri maximum prison. Huh, did I hear him mention ethnic favoritism? During the era of Obasanjo, I can’t remember him going to East to commission any federal government project. OBJ hated Easterners right from beginning. Oh, I forgot he’s playing the card of his partners in crime. He is crying wolf because he has seized to be relevant. Goodluck remains a Saint compared to baba Iyabo. I am only angry, because Goodluck himself is not the problem but the cabals that surrounds him. He meant everything good this could also be seen from his body language. GEJ is a total gentle man but his gentility will mean nothing if he doesn't weed out those criminals around him. There is still time for him, that’s if the name “Niger Area” still exists by 2015 and I doubt. The national conference which he has proposed is the best decision but baba corruption himself flawed this great idea in his 18 paged letter so that they will continue stealing our wealth in the name of Federal Republic of “Niger Area”. OBJ is crying because it’s crystal clear he may lose his oil wells from the East if the best (they would call it ‘worst’) happens.
They are scrambling for relevance, the hostage is long overdue. The wealth from SE/SS is only what is keeping “Niger Area” one, as can be seen from the ranting of Mr. Obasanjo. How has Baba Iyabo become a moral crusader? A man in his seventies was accused of sleeping with his daughter in-law which may not be far from reality. Huh, a man that was freed from prison by his accomplice with a worth of N20k but now own the highest and largest farm in Africa, a major stake holder of Oando, Transcorp etc. Huh, Baba Iyabo how time flies?... Let me prepare my dinner, I shall be back.

  23. We need not look further for the answer to your question: did jona reply to saraki's almost annual ritual murders? No. Did he do anything about Lawal-Otedola's case? No. Did he do anything about Stella Oduah's stinking matter? No. Has he made any major breakthrough against Boko Harm? No. Can anyone rproudly say..this is my beloved leader? No. Can we point out any particular area in the life of average Nigeria that he has positively impacted? No. Does he command any respect in international arena? No. Do people just hate him because of his achievements? No.....THEN, IS HE GOING TO COME OUT AND ADDRESS ALL THE CURRENT BURNING ISSUES?......The answer is very likely to be NO!!! Q.E.D

  24. Silent is Golden..... Why try to justify his self??? U can never please everybody no way! Provided u do what u think is right and makes God happy........forget any other side critics.....That's OBJ's way of telling us he is still very much alive..... Still can't stop wondering who constructed that letter for him....i_ChoPtas_Not

    1. Which yeye silence? He should wait till he gets old and arrives d grave before the practice of grave silence biko...for now we are living humans, and we need to dialogue. his silence is detrimental to my future and that of my kids.

  25. I love the dignified silence. He doesn't owe Obasanjo a reply. Obasanjo has a right to his views, but his time has passed unfortunately. He is only trying to stay relevant.

  26. There's an "omerta" going on with the former Generals, that's why Ige's killer will never be revealed. It's not hard to figure out who did it, same way it's not hard to figure out who killed Abacha and MKO. It points to one person who had proxies working for him.

Jonathan isn't ruthless and that's why this will pass over. By next week there will be a new distraction.

From time immemorial OBJ has always been vindictive. Even when he's at fault, he takes the moral high ground. He doesn't forget if you don't dance to his tune and when he doesn't get what he wants he throws tantrums. I just hope these tantrums are not the drumbeats of war. OBJ is in cahoots with the North over GEJ 2015 and the current crisis in the PDP (breakaway governors) has his hands written all over it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Imagine OBJ of all persons saying Nigeria is bleeding. Sir, who bled Nigeria the most? GEJ is a saint compared to you. You are a thief and a rogue. If I were GEJ, I wouldn't bother replying you. Silence is the best answer to a fool like you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Very soon, you will realise that the letter you wrote to GEJ was only reffering to you. It's sucidial.
