Sanusi Lamido's Alleged Accusation Against Pastor Adeboye...

Oh my God,this whole drama is taking a new turn and i have a headche from trying to decide if i should call Sanusi Lamido a basketmouth for his strong allegations or to pat him on the back and say well done.
Pastor Adeboye is a respected man of the most high God and i dont want to think he might have done what he is being accused of but then what does Lamido stand to gain by lying?..logic versus reasoning.
Let me grab a cuppa coffee and let baba God deal with this issue.

Read the shocking report according to SR
The governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has accused the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, of playing a role in shielding Erasmus Akingbola, the corrupt former Chief Executive Officer of InterContinental Bank PLC, from serious prosecution.

Nigerian authorities asserted that the rogue former banking executive siphoned over N200 billion from the commercial bank he ran. Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission also accused Mr. Akingbola of using his loot to buy swanky properties in Europe and other parts of the world. The former InterContinental Bank chief also reportedly manipulated his bank’s stocks in insider trading deals.

Mr. Akingbola fled to the UK as soon as Nigerian authorities indicated their desire to try him. He was later forced to return to Nigeria, but his prosecution soon fizzled in what EFCC sources privately confided to be a deal hatched at the highest levels to let him walk free.

Mr. Sanusi hinted at Pastor’s Adeboye’s involvement in the deal in a widely circulatedTEDX talk he gave in Abuja, the Nigerian capital. In the video, the CBN governor relates his encounters with vested interests in the banking sector.
Although Mr. Sanusi did not expressly mention Pastor Adeboye by name, SaharaReporters was able to confirm from two sources that the Redeemed Church leader was involved in the deals that led to the obstruction of Mr. Akingbola’s trial.

Justice Habeeb Abiru, who was handling Mr. Akingbola’s trial, was suddenly promoted to the Court of Appeals after Pastor Adeboye intervened on behalf of the rogue banker with President Goodluck Jonathan, one of the sources told SaharaReporters. Mr. Akingbola’s case has since stalled in a maze of judicial manipulations and is currently being tried by a third judge in Lagos.

In the video, the Central Bank Governor also makes a crucial retreat from the position he took during the fuel price hike protests of January 2012. Mr. Sanusi had publicly and forcefully defended the case for increasing the price of fuel and other gasoline products. But in the TED talk, he admits that Nigerians who revolted in the “Occupy Nigeria” protests after the Goodluck Jonathan administration unveiled higher fuel prices were right. Mr. Sanusi disclosed that most of the fuel subsidy funds had been stolen by highly connected individuals who continue to evade justice.

Why wait till 2014 before speaking up, when he had ample opportunity during the fuel subsidy strikes. This is a man who claims suprise that he was asked to resign when corrupt NNPC officials go untouched. Pointing fingers at the Church when the government he was part is to be blamed. You're a fraud SLS

  33. I can believe this. About 9 years ago, a certain, there was a vacancy in one of the Universities in the South-South, as in they needed a new V.C. They conducted the interviews as usual and one of his pastors was a candidate. The guy came third in the process and Pastor Adeboye, single handedly went to Obasanjo to lobby on the Pastor's behalf and the Pastor eventually became the V.C. So it is not surprising what Sanusi has just said.

What happened to Access Bank facility in the then Intercontinental? has it been paid back? to who if yes. if only Akingbola had played his card well as Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu he wouldn't be in this situation.

  42. Well I gave credit to the CBN governor for the relevant advice for the youth in his speech but from my own humble observation, I can see a personal issue around it first we all know something is wrong with the banking sector and his are really helping in some areas or may be you are working hard for your own future purpose or gain but the way he talks about the banking issues indicate a view of personal issues with the CEOs that he is not able to solve when his are less powerful in the country. As a young man studying the country for a long time I want other people too to reason with my view and do some research on the issue and the governor in terms of personal issues when his a student or his election to the position.

  45. Sanusi has personal beef with Erastus Akingbola before he became CBN gov. Sanusi on become d Governor of central bank caused the removal of People like Akingbola, Ibru, Ovia, Elumelu et al. It is curious that most of the really diseased Banks i.e, Bank of the North (now Unity Bank) were left alone by Sanusi.

We all now knew who is lying against whom. Nigerian Banking system is now the worst for it since Lamido became its regulator. He is saying what hes saying ,and his campaign of calumny against Pastor Adeboye, to curry favour with the Northern caucus all because he wants to become the next Emir of Kano.

  46. OMG!!!! It is clear people only read headlines, they don't read stories.

    - SDK you are misleading your readers with this heading. I know it will get you the desired goal of increased comments, increased hits to your blog, but you need to do the right thing.
    - From the right up, it is clear that SDK mentioned that Sahara Reporters is the one accussing Adegboye.
    - No reason for Sanusi's name here other than to continue to spew hatred between Muslims and Christians. SDK do not be one to encourage this.
    - I conclude most naija politicians always have hidden agendas,
    - Sahara Reporters has published false stories.
    - No human being is without sin. Not even pastors.
