Blog Visitor's 16 Year Old Daughter Alero Writes An Open Letter ......

Beautiful Alero Obaseki is just 16years old but her wisdom is #epic

''I am writing this letter not to everybody but to just one person out there who thinks there is nothing more to life.

I am writing this letter reminding you that no matter your situation there will surely be a way out. I have heard of the increasing suicide rate in the world today and I am like really? Have we forgotten that the good book says:
"Where there is life there is hope for a living dog is better than a dead lion (Ecc. 9 v 4)."

Did you also know that whatever is worth dying for is worth living for?

Let's take Christ as our practical example who even while we were yet sinners died for us and today He is still alive for our sake.

He made us pure and clean by the blood he shed on the cross of Calvary and is alive so that after we have become saved can have the name of Jesus as our stronghold.

What exactly is that situation that you think you will never get out of? Is it unwanted? Is it financial struggle? A loved one just died? Is it rejection? Or do you just feel like nothing ever goes right?

I want to let you know that throughout your struggles Christ was somewhere there, He is there and will always be there so listen to Him now telling you ''hold on, don't let go''
You are everything He is, so even when it hurts, even when it's hard, even when it all just falls apart, run to Him because He will surely steady your heart.

No need for worries because He has you right at the palm of His hand.

Are you at that point when you feel you have nothing else to offer the world except from brokenness? Is your heart broken? Is your joy stolen? Is the pain hard to heal? Listen I say again, He is saying to you:
"I will lift you up! ...Higher than you will ever think!
I will turn your story around and even you will be a surprise to yourself.
I will make things happen so fast, your head will swim and everywhere you turn all you will see is blessings''
...that is the voice of your saviour, the lover of your soul.

So, when next those horrible thoughts come telling you that you aren't good enough or you aren't worth it, remind it of who you are and tell it you have a more sure hope in Christ. You are on a solid rock and cannot be moved.

I, Alero Obaseki is writing this from the depth of my heart reminding you that there is more to life than you have seen. Don't give up just yet. Sometime later down this line you will look at that situation, laugh and say ''I came, I saw, I conquered."

The sky will soon be your beginning, so my brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunties out there let's make this an open letter reminding ourselves that all that took place that day on the cross of calvary was for you and I.

So enjoy life to the fullest, laugh all you want, shop all you can, eat all you wish (responsibly that is,) and make as many friends as you wish.
Always remember Jesus loves you

Signed: ALERO OBASEKI

    2. Last year was also terrible for me o. I can never ever forget 2013. If not for God, I had given up. I can identify with Alero's write up o cus I hoped against hope last year, I prayed like never before cus everything else failed me I visited prophets and even Babalawos sef, my case got worse and my husband eventually threw me out of the house.
Nobody advise me before I begin open bible read. The Bible became my best friend, I found encouraging scriptures and my hope and faith built up, I just became to proclaim everything I wanted to see in my life. 2013 ended, nothing. It was 5th of January my husband came to me o with a brand new car to take me back home, Feb 10 to 17, we did honeymoon part 2, life is sweet again, even sweeter cus I didn't give up hope.
Friends that may be passing through one ish or another, dont give up dears, keep hope alive. There's light at the end of the dark tunnel. Weeping may endure for a night but Joy cometh in the morning. Like Alero said " what is worth dying for, is worth living for".
It happened to me so I can relate.

  8. An intelligent writeup, no doubt, but a lot of people with suicidal thoughts usually have mental issues, such as depression. It isn't always because they're in want or frustrated with life.

Its not easy when you see your business crumble before your eyes and the people you expect to assist you pretend like there's nothing. It is well with you. In this your situation, make the Bible your Companion and your soulmate. Go on your kneels and always communicate with God. Its not easy especially when one is in such a depressed spirit.. Alero in ur own small world u assume everyone is a Christian. FAIL. U also assume like most Nigerians that if u close ur eyes and pray everything magically becomes alright. FAIL. U wonder why prayers have not cured everything in ur country. U also forget that a lot of suicide can be due to mental issues. FAIL. Sadly ur country has no mental health facilities.

Go read ur books Alero. It is ur mates that are making waves with brilliant SAT scores in the US. Do that Alero then I will celebrate u.

  40. Nice write up. Intelligent girl. Words of hope. I will have to read this over and over again like I've been doing since I opened this post but it's making me cry because quite sincerely my hope seems hopeless.
Been married for 7 years, I have 4 girls(2sets of twins), on the 1st of January this year, my husband just abandoned us and left, dunno where he is, he picks my calls once in a blue moon and says he will come back when he comes back. My girls have been withdrawn from school cus I can't pay the fees as I have no job. I more or less beg to survive. I just hate my life cus I dropped out of school because of my first pregnancy hoping to continue later but it wasn't possible and I became a full time housewife. Things were going on fine till November 2013 when he suddenly became a monster, keep late nights extending to days sometimes , stopped providing for us, treat us with so much hatred and beat me up at will, then January, he ran away, abandoning us.
I hope I can keep hope alive, i hope that someday it will be easy to say " I came, I saw, I conquered", i hope but sincerely, it doesn't seem so cus I have lived in pains this past month and I just regret my life. Yesterday, i almost thought of feeding all 5 of us poison to end it all. Please, people pray for me and beg Gid to remember me and my children, he should touch my husband's heart too. My parents are long dead if not I would have gone back home. At 28, i suddenly look 58. I can't stop crying.
Thank you Alero for this piece. Thank you Stella for the post. God bless you.

    3. Ma'am, i feel quite sorry for you but honestly, you shouldn't have abandoned your education for a man, it's never worth it. Even if you want to end up a housewife, you will still save your certificate for the rainy day. I've seen women go to school even while nursing babies. At least by now, you would simply have dusted your certificate and looked for a job, even if it's teaching, to find for you and your kids.
If this man refuses to come back, what will you do? 4 children's fees us not a joke, feeding, housing et al.
You can't afford to give up now though, you can't.
I wish we could see. You must start from somewhere but that man has to tell you for sure what his plans are, then we can take it from there.

That's why most if you end up making lives unbearable for your partners in your marriages. Evil, bitter lot.

    7. Haba. Didn't the bible say..."out of the mouths of babes and infants......" please somebody complete this for these people here. I started writing before her age, and today am better off for it. My peers who know how well I write and think profoundly before I speak, have stopped hating and envying me. Rather, now they stylishly ask that I write certain things for them. Its not pride, but it is a gift that anyone who discovers theirs on time, can develop. Encourage the girl instead of belittling her self esteem.

    8. Anonymous 1:14, you can pray for your children to become "ancient of days" before they achieve anything meaningful in life.

Some of you claim there's nothing new in what this little angel has just written so pls answer me,how many people have you bothered to reach out to today or even said a simple kind word as "I love you". Do you realise what people are passing through? Whether you like it or not, there are people in hopeless situations who have been waiting for a word from the Lord this morning and the Holy Spirit just used her as a vessel to minister to them. Please stop being insensitive to people's plight, I beg u... @ anonymous 11.57, visit joet store.27b. idowu martins, off adeola odeku, but am afraid u'll hv to take a cab, betterstill, sanusi fafunwa, it's closer to u.

  54. Hope! A living dog is better than a dead lion. True at least when one is alive, theres still hope.
I'm 30, no companion, no job. It's the job that's my main worry sef cus its pretty much frustrating, i keep writing tests, attending interviews yet, I will never be called. When I'm eventually called and given a job, I will not last for up to 6 months with them before I'm sacked. Just last week, i did a test for a firm that i'd been praying to work for cus of the very good prospects there , did the tests which I passed in flying colours, did the interview which I thought I did very well cus my interviewers all seemed wowed and impressed, yet I wasn't called. Only for an insider to tell me I actually did best in the interview but 2nd best was asked to resume the next day. I almost fainted. Why are there troubles in the world? Why is the world so unfair to some people? I've just been depressed since I got that news cus that job would have changed my status. And nowadays, men don't want liabilities as wives, when will I ever get married? Meanwhile, life is just so Damn easy for some people. I don't know, I just don't know.
God bless you Alero. You have written a nice piece, you have touched hearts and God will bless you

    1. Sweetie, stay positive. Ask God to remove from u the garment of shame, garment of rejection and near success syndrome. Ask God to renew ur outlook from that of shame, so that the Devil will pass u over. Then learn not to quickly share ur plans or good news with anyone until God says it is time. I tell u what, it could be that there's a particular person in ur life, could be a family member or friend, that u share ur prospects and perhaps impending job opportunities with. It could be that u have someone whose aura is bad luck filled. So that when u share things with them it never comes to pass or it breaks halfway tru. Be very mindful of this. Learn to keep all to yourself and pray fervently. God will come tru for u. Godspeed

  56. 16 years old ? And you guys are praising her like this ? Lmaoo I'm worried for the state of Nigeria. If this isn't more than expected from a 16 years old, then I'm worried for Nigeria/Nigerians. Or do y'all on this blogs, don't just know anything ?

Maybe it's too early for me to generalise based on a blog post. Let me stop here...

    1. Chai! People are bitter o. Hahahahahahahahahaha. Just cus they are praising someone, you want to give yourself hypertension? Sorry for you. Now, for starters, you are a coward where this 15 year old is because she's 15, we are school mates. She has her name right up there but you can't put yours cus you haven't achieved anything in life and I am sure you have never been celebrated before. What have you achieved now ancient of days? Let's know, and please let's know what you achieved when you were 20 that warranted a clap? I shake my head for you whoever you are. You should be ashamed of yourself. Mtschew.

  57. Thank you Alero for this letter. You have done your part and I'm very sure God is proud of you for this. I am proud of you too even though I don't know you.
You may be a bit disturbed by the very very very few and I must add, inconsequential negative comments here but ignore them, focus on the positive ones, say Amen to the positive prayers and continue doing what you do because it's the way of the world. Some people are leftists and opposite people, they must always condemn when others are praising, they pull down when others are pulling up, it's not their fault, it's just their assignments they are pursuing, they are instruments being used to spread worry and sorrow.
You are a young girl and the sky is just the beginning for you. Thank you for the message in your letter, it TOUCHED ME.
    You are loved! #hugs#

    1. The Lord who is in heaven knows the desires of ur heart. NO witchcraft can contend with the mighty man of warrior when He says ur time has come. Stop elevating the powers of witches above that of the Almighty. Who are yea mountain before Zerrubabbel? Ask the bloody mountain to move and lose its hold. C'mon girl there's power mighty in the name of Jesus. Which every knee must bow and confess to. How many witches are in ur household or entire village? Put all of them together and they cannot stand before angel Michael aoine, not to talk of Jesus Himself.
My dear, declare, proclaim, denounce, decree, prophesy, ....but all will only work if you speak and work by faith. Without faith u speak in vain. Godspeed.

All a child needs from adults are encouragements, anything other than that, like some I've seen here is an offshoot of "AGBAYAISM' and not all adults are agbayas, the agbayas are quite few so leave them to display and exhibit their talents.
Alero has done well, I don't know her but I'm proud of her.
