Mohammed Abubakar IG Of Police VS Traffic Light.

Isnt there a traffic light at this wide junction?.OMG !

This is the inspector general of police controlling traffic in Abuja yesterday Sunday July 20,2014.Beautiful pic but you should only find a situation like this when the traffic light temporarily goes off....I hope that was the situation?

.......and why are so many cars on one lane? 5 lanes?
Some things just make me sad about Nigeria and i wonder when we will ever get even the little things right!!

Is this a T-junction?

    8. I think he is due to retire at the end of this month? I guess he wants to be remembered for something. Even if he had lost focus at some point in his role as IG.

  2. No idea about this, but I would expect Abuja to be more organised than this.

Maybe the IG was at a specific function at that location. Where are our Abj BVs.

  3. Can anyone tell me why Nigeria's Inspector-General of police MD Abubakar is on street in Abuja controlling traffic, is this to portray him as a selfless police officer or a schmuck? Where are traffic lights? And the traffic wardens employed for the jobs what happened to them? Despicable & humiliating, denigration of the office of IG and national humiliation of NPF. Hmm...cant imagine UK's metropolitan police commissioner equivalent of IG of police seen in oxford street as a traffic warden, when serious jobs need to be attended to?

    1. You are talking rubbish. He is leading by example and showing how it is done. What do you mean denigrating the office of the IG? Don't you know that the developed countries, their leaders are known to set good example for the people. This is a step on the right direction. This means our leaders now care what we think. And that is good. Thank you IG. By this act alone you may have boosted the morale of your force. The next step will be joining Fire for Fire on one of their exchanges with criminals......hope you can still fire that pistol....lol!

    4. Thank you very much. The man is a joker. He is busy paying eye service while Nigerians are being held to ransome by various sorts of hoodlums and criminals (some of them Policemen). Meanwhile, his son is busy posting pictures of himself on the internet posing with cars costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Cars obviously funded by his "popsie" and no one is asking any questioms. No media storm, no internet witch hunting, no petitions from underlings, just because he isn't an Ibo man?

And u think Nigeria will ever be good? SMH.

    5. Abeg close mouth if you no get comment jor.

I see well dressed, way above average Nigerians doing this all the time on the island.

So if traffic light is not working and cars belong head locked together, no one should come down to straighten things up abi

    6. Errr I would let you know that the metropolitan police commissioner, that you just mentioned.. they sometimes to do it AND even the city of police London which I am very familiar with, that seem to be somewhat more posh (those one's that cover only big cities in London) Do IT. Not every time of course, just like this man doesn't do it every time. They call it first class knowledge and do it to scrutinise how polices parole round the streets. And he doesn't even tell them because then it defeats his purpose. And oh, it gets boring doing the paper work all the time. So sometimes, they get on their horses. So yup, can we stick to what we know and not act like Nigeria is oh so different. The difference is that you people see it as a big deal OR maybe it's because the man is glaringly differently dressed. #JustSaying #StickToWhatYouKnow. Don't be way too quick to condemn ya own! However, I see what you are saying about traffic lights but again, there's no full picture of the road. You can't be too sure there are no traffic lights.

    7. Maybe he is trying to make us see he is selfless, just like omisore, nigerians are very gullible n who knows,if its on a Sunday that road is always free,so he shd just chill joor,he shd go n do dis in borno or even in lagos, then we will knw he is serious.
      Misplaced priority.smh

I think he was only playing to the gallery...I remembered when I went for a visit to the police HQ to see the former IG...I was baffled the way he was being treated like the president...his convoy was more than that of the president. He is only acting here I guess...

  10. Stella even in Yankee sef police control traffic. There might be some event going on. Tell me if Obama or the queen of England comes to Germany, there won't be traffic that cannot be controlled by a train light? Madam IG of Police was bold to do this especially in Nigeria where they keep people in politics anyhow. Anybody could have shot him from any Angle but he chose to do this by himself and not assign it to some other police officers around

    1. Hello Anon. 8:34! Just STFU that is not his Job. Nigeria is not paying him 6digits to control traffic by himself. Sa no to misplaced priority.

  15. Probably just a show off. When they have so many traffic wardens and police officers for the job?
Most spots like this all have traffic lights. I guess there was a malfunction or something.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oga IG, face your work and control Boko Haram, not traffic. This is not why you are paid millions monthly.

  17. It's the t junction by the ministry of finance. There is a traffic light there but was obviously not working. Free him abeg.

  18. Humanitarian service. Kip it up.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes Stella, there are 4 sets of traffic lights at this intersection. They may have gone off temporarily as they often do or they may have been temporarily switched off to allow the IG show off his traffic warden skills. I am impressed that he did this. It should boost the morale of traffic wardens in the Nigerian Police Force as they are typically regarded as the lowest rung of police officers. I like this IG, he looks fit and smart. Not like some of his predecessors and counterparts in the armed forces with massive beer bellies, looking so wide and unfit.

  20. Not digging this show at all at all. What the...;'# is he trying to prove bikonu? Ifele megbukwaaa ha! Oginiduu? Does it mean that the traffic lights are not working or they don't av enough traffic wardens to man the roads??? Biko nwoke ahuu jeee sunye ike na gutter!

  22. That's the ministry of finance building in abuja. And no there has never been traffic lights there and its a T-junction too. The last line is suppose to be for cars going towards the ministry's gate or ecunimical centre but as usual nigerians and impatience they hv to block it too!

    ReplyDelete
  23. What a degradation to Office and a National insult. Everything is just wrong with this his behaviour.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm not sure of the proper word but I think it's called a four way intersection. There are so many cars because the streets in abuja are quite wide. Having said that what is the man trying to prove, please let him focus on combating the serious insecurity we are facing in this country. This show is pointless, he directs traffic, SO WHAT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aunty Stellz what's wrong with many cars on d five lanes? No b cos of d many cars them expand d road reach five lanes? All this eye service this oga police is doing, doesn't he have work in his office? Or he wants us to say he is humble? Mtcheeew. Abegi. Meanwhile I think there is a traffic light @ that junction... mayb they just wanted to show themselves that day. woe betides anyone who passes after d Oga IG has stopped him sha.

  37. SDK the IG was 'mandated' to control traffic by that torch light carrying show presenter/musician Azaay something. It was an episode of dat his show "true Nigerian" where he interviews the 'big men' in government and then mandates them to do some menial task like sell pure water in traffic, cook soup, wash dishes, bath a baby, etc. In the IG's own case his task was to control traffic. I watched it on WAP Tv. If you see the heavy itinerary of police men wey follow the IG eh! Fear go even catch the road users to drive past. It looked so funny and kinda ironic watching him trying to portray his 'humility' by controlling traffic and yet surrounded by stern looking police men wielding heary machinery. laff no gree me cos i jus dey imagine wetin for happen if any driver try beat traffic as IG dey control! lolll

    ReplyDelete
  38. Human beings can never be pleased true true. If the man always sits in the office, you people will complain he is not going round. Now he is doing part of his job, you people want him to sit down in the office or not do it.
Madam Stella, i will like you to visit Nigeria one of these days to get first hand information before siding any party biko.

  39. The police organisation will never record a continuous success and progress unless they put smiles on our faces "Traffic warden " we share the same office but the see us as slaves and nobody but thank God the society are with us. "ON WITH GOD IS MAJORITY ". All the past IG have decided to punish us but God will judge them by their deeds. They decided not no promote us, they humiliate us, in fact it is only in the police that Traffic warden cannot Head their sections. Even carpenters and road side mechanic becomes oga on their own. But when you commit an offence you will be punished as a police. God will judge.
