I have been so worried about how to pay his school fees and other miscellaneous for about a week now since he left for school with #20,000 I could provide for his accommodation in a private polytechnic at Ife. I decided to take Oracle certification examination since I have a little background in IT..
But the process have been really difficult, putting of school was also very difficult but I thank God
I tried to teach myself makeup through youtube videos but getting good makeup kits is very expensive and only a few people allowed a youtube,marykay using makeup artist close to their skin.
I was able to raise the little I can to start the class and still support my younger siblings but I just stop attending lectures because I coudn't balance up
Been @ home teaching myself by reading stuffs I surfed from the Internet and the school

Even though my parents could comfortably afford all I wanted, I still wanted to do things on my own and support what my parents were giving me. I barely asked for money from home and I was still able to help my friends in need then. Undergraduates, try to get part time jobs. No job is demeaning as long as it's legit.

DeleteWe all know there may be scammers here, but let us not allow that mindset affect genuine people who may be in dire need of school fees. I know quite a number of people who are on the verge of dropping out from school due to dwindling finances. No matter how small you give, God sees your heart, and he'll replenish your pockets exceedingly.

Luckily for me,I passed my jamb and waec and got admission into the university. The registration and clearance fees almost killed my mum as I am the first child and my younger sister was also writing waec at the time. We are on holiday now but I'm still in school as going home is going to increase the burden on my parents though they aren't complaining. Need help as I have a borrowed course to register which is 5600 naira. Dnt have much food here but I feel registering that course is more important. Will be grateful if anybody can help. DeleteThank you so much for this opportunity I am very grateful. I am final year student of the University of benin, i am fatherless and with an aged mum who does pettt trade. I am not really complaining cause God has been faithful to us, i type in school and photocopy to make ends and thats how i was able to see myself to this point with the assistance of some kind persons. But since i entered final year i had to stop my business to focus on my project and school so i graduate this year with no carryover cause we dont wave in my department. This has made my finance so tight, and i have been so stressed up trying to pay my rent, buying textbooks, project work and school fees. Our first semester exam we were separated from those that have paid their fees and they threatened us that we(those that are yet to pay) wont see their result. I dont want to ask for much because i know giving out money is a sacrifice and they are many people who need help, but if i can be helped with only my fees which is the most important right now cause for accommodation i can always squat with a friend. My fee is #17000,14000+3000(for gown) because we are in final year. I have tried to borrow from people i thought are friends but you know how life is. My project was handwritten and after final approval i went ahead to type at a computer center.. just say u need a laptop to commit internet fraud and not bcos of ur project work...How many graduates had laptops for their project? if na dat one go make u no graduate then remain in school till u are able to save enough money for the laptop... mtchewwwwww.Nigerians like taking advantage of everything..some will come and lie now that their parents are dead just bcos of money..cheeeeeiiii

Since he died, things have been hard for my family and I am the first child of four. Recently, our schoolfees was increased and now I have to pay 33,700 and my department has asked us to pay 21 500 for our nursing uniform since feburary which I have not been able to pay. Infact, my mates have been measured. I have tried severally to get a job because my mum is not ok healthwise, the little I had saved up was used in settling her hospital bill when she took ill recently. ReplyDeleteStella, I can see that this your kind gesture is coming from a good heart but I think there is need to package it well so as to maximise the purpose. Going through the comments of most of the supposed students asking for money, it is evident that most of them have missed the point.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I am going to sound insensitive, there are lots of pointers to the fact that most of these people don't need this money.
1. Most of them can't even be bothered to write properly and they expect people to invest in their education. Even government doesn't give scholarship to unintelligent people.
1. They all have smart phones and pay for Internet subscriptions; they don't think saving small small money amount to something?
2. Everyone wants a laptop now- what for please? As a student, if it's not for commercial services, it's luxury.
3. Everyone is gifted in one thing or the other; school environment is fertile ground for one to use his gift and make money. Females learn braiding, males learn to barb, start drycleaning and laundry services for fellow students, buy n sell goods or services. There is always something you can do.
4. Be diligent, even if you can't get money; it will bring goodwill. If you are not smart enough to attract the attention of someone around you that will be interested in helping you; then you need to try more.
I could go on and on but for as many people as want to help; let's start with mentoring these students. Most of their mindsets are flawed and will need reorientation before the financial help will be beneficial to them, if not we will come back here by this time next year, frustrated with more students needing money to replace squandered school fees.

I have deferred for 2 semesters and I wish to continue in order to graduate next semester and help my mom.
