President Jonathan Asks ''Where Is Gwoza Sef''?

The President Does Not Know where Gwoza is located...
Same way some people do not know how to make use of their brain...LOL

In a bizarre tale that illustrates how Nigeria is run, President Goodluck Jonathan arrived two weeks ago at a top secret meeting with the exiled Emir of Gwoza, the newly-named headquarters of Boko Haram’s so-called “Islamic Caliphate,” with no knowledge of the location of Gwoza, presidency sources at the meeting said.

The Emir, Muhammed Timta, escaped after the militants invaded Gwoza on August 16 and took over his palace.
He arrived in Abuja after first making his way to Maiduguri to escape further attempts on his life. His father, Idrissa Timta, had died in a Boko Haram ambush on May 30, 2014 as Boko Haram ambushed his convoy on his way to the burial of the Emir of Gombe.

Shortly after Timta’s arrival in Abuja, President Jonathan sent for the Emir, who was accompanied to the meeting by a Borno Senator, Ali Ndume. However, to the utter shock of the Emir, President Jonathan did not know where Gwoza was located: Adamawa or Borno State.

Presidency sources said silence enveloped the room after the President, apparently lacking basic research or a briefing by his numerous aides and security agencies, asked in condescending pidgin

 “Where’s Gwoza sef?”

Mr. Jonathan then promised to ‘liberate’ Gwoza after Senator Ndume told him Gwoza was his home town and that it is located in Borno State.
Gwoza remains under the control of Boko Haram after the sect took over the township in a raid and declared the town the headquarters of the “Islamic Caliphate” in the Northeast of Nigeria.

At least three attempts by Nigerian troops have been repelled by the militants.  Several soldiers and innocent civilians were killed.....SR

*Abeggy!!!Na who dem catch with hand inside soup pot dey thief meat them dey call thief.'Some' politicians do not even know how many states Nigeria has sef talkless of knowing where they are situated.

Truth be told, some people will only get to know where Gwoza is after this report of the President asking goes viral.
Pardon me to ask where exactly in Borno state Gwoza is..lol

*Note that i am not a PDP card carrying member.

    1. Stella you disappoint sometimes. Say it as it is, a president shouldn't be asking where it is during the meeting but before. His people should have briefed him before he goes in. His question was obviously what state. Gwoza has been in the news for awhile and even we know its in borno. Gej not knowing obviously means he doesnt listen to news and noone tells him of the happenings in the country. If its Apc now you'll open mouth yakata

    2. Gwoza is in southern Borno, and that is where the training camp of the Nigeria Mobile Police is located. Same village the so called Sen. Ndume is from, and very annoying is the fact that this same senator was mentioned in 2011 as a top BH sponsor/information giver. After verifying the exchange of sms between him and his telecom service provider nothing has been done about it. This man gives out hundreds of Volkswagen golf cars to his supporters and EFCC has done nothing about his source of income. Anyway God will catch them. And this man was not even born a muslim o, his mother used to be the head of the Christian women in Gwoza and if she is still alive she is still a Christian. I'm not condeming islam but if you are a northern Christian especially from Borno or Yobe you will understand our plight.

    3. Before this man became president, I said it that he is intellectually lazy, but them curse me die. Person wey dey sleep for council meeting. How can you not at least do a research before your meeting? How hard is that. Even me wey no like wahala, once I hear something new I run to google, I ask questions. I hate reading but I don't have a choice. Smh! 2015 indeed. I am my own government.

    4. Goodluck n wife disgracing Nigeria up and down! So Mr. President doesn't hv intelligent aides? Why speak ignorantly? Whether we all know where Gwoza is or not, he is the number one citizen and is expected to know a lot! God help Nigeria!

    5. Not entirely his fault, but his aides. He should have been briefed before the meeting. This tells a lot, as someone said they don't even tell him what's going on in the country. Please Mr president listen to news, real news.

      Delete
    6. How is it not his fault? It's not as if the emir badged into the presidential office taking him unawares...the president invited him and so he should've had sufficient time to ask for all relevant info...

This smacks of laziness...and his aides can only be that lazy because they know he doesn't care too...#shikena

    7. Me sef no sabi Gwoza until NOW o. However I am not the president so eh. He should have been briefed. Embarrassing to say the least.

I didn't know of Chibok until the 'missing' girls. I didn't know of Iyanya until the bombing. And so on. But as the president of a nation you should carry ur map around o. Na so GEJ for ask Amapour or what's her name, where Gwoza is located. I love u Mr President but at times like this u leave me with no choice than to lash u. A knock on ur head Reuben Abati.

There should be a training school for our leaders before they assume office, he didnt research or get his aides too and it was not an emergency meeting, so since BH took over gowza it didnt even concern him enough to check its location. He couldnt be bothered or felt it was another fable. He couldnt even be diplomatic in the way he asked. And this man wants to stagnate the country for 4 more years and my pple are chopping bcos of ...... its a shame Nigeria

My president is just a single human being, he cannot know everything and he cannot be everywhere. Please give him a break.
In the other news, was it a coincidence that APC had a conference in Owerri yesterday, with all their governors, party executives and members in attendance, and it was same yesterday that Imo state allegedly recorded it's first ebola case.

Let's stop this our ignorance on the blogosphere because non Nigerians do read from us at times. Even President Obama knows African countries and their cities more than our so called leaders. Enough said

  5. Stella,no dey talk like this abeg... He's not suppose to know where gwoza is? Gwoza has been in the news for the past 2weeks? Hasn't he heard of it? Hasn't he heard that the declared it an Islamic caliphate? So after he heard that why didn't he start asking to know where it is? Okay since he didn't ask then, why didn't he ask his aides to find out where the place is after he invited the emir? That's what the aides are paid form,to update him and brief him up before a meeting...

We Nigerians are hupocrites,we want a change yet we cant call out the president when he's wrong... We defend him when it blatantly clear that he isn't performing as he should all because he's from south south....

Pardoned many people do not even know where they come from, most married people don't even know where their husbands are from other than the states, but for a President to go for a meeting and not know the details of where Gwoza is, is highly unpardonable. A little bit of research would have helped him out, even if it meant using his phone to google it out naa. Then how does he intend to liberate a place he doesn't even know where it is? This is to tell you that most of these happenings in the north are not his concern. This is not good enough.

  31. While I can't vouch for the integrity of this report, I won't be surprised if the accounts are true. Anyone, and by that I mean those who listened to the Australian negotiator's interview on Arise TV not those who read the transcript in part or the reproduced version, would recall that Dr. Stephen Davis lamented that President Jonathan seems to have been left alone by his horde of advisers and ministers to carry on the war against terrorism. He particularly fingered the Minister of Defence, Aliyu Gusau, in that regard. Again, why I won't be surprised is I've a gut-feeling the C-in-C is not properly briefed on security matters. Why? It took the president series of mutinous acts and desertions from the army among others for him to realise the troops fighting Boko Haram aren't properly equipped and ill-motivated, which forced him to request a loan of $1bn to purchase military hardware but not after he'd gone on national TV to disparage a governor for revealing that the enemy possesses superior fire-arm. What other evidence is needed to show that the president is not kept in the loop, security-wise? So, 'where's Gwoza?' might just be the tip of the iceberg of what he might not be adequately briefed about.

    3. you had to write a whole sermon to confirm that the C-IN-C is actually clueless. i remember from an earlier post you said the president is fully abreast of the situation at hand, you fell short of saying that the president is all knowing. you even said the president is not influenced by external forces. why contradict yourself. with all the numerous aides and horde of advisers the president is still kept in the dark on security issues. how lame can tjis excuse be. may be you should help unravel the mystery behind the president not been properly briefed or are you trying to pass off the president as being innocent of the situation. that he our president is surrounded by wolves in sheep clothing. am still waiting for Abati who ingloriously gave a press statement saying the erstwhile service chiefs was sacked knowing fully well that Bardeh will still continue in service for the president. Ayodele please don't exonerate the president for not being forthright in the fight against terrorism. *much love.*

  56. Stella,I normally read your blog because of your comment after posting but with this your response you lost my respect. If you are supporting a Jona on this then we have more educated illiterates roaming the streets. Stella pls,say it as it is ,don't promote mediocrity .Our president doesn't care,if he cares he will know each time boko haram strikes ,Gwoza has been in the news for some time now,I guess he called the meeting just for lip service.

  57. I don't believe this story, yes our First Lady is a disgrace, has jona joined too. If this story is true I cry for my beloved country. Thank God I never voted for jona because from onset I knew he is a wrong choice for giant of Africa.

  58. Stella,
I am disappointed. And you live in a western world.
Imagine Obama asking where Tora Bora is, even though its in Afghanistan.
Many soldiers have died in Gwoza and the C in C doesn't know where it is.

Shame on the followers. .Not even the Leaders.

    1. God bless u!!!! To him, the whole BH thing is not real...in his mind, let's keep our 2015 agenda going, keep living our lives and it will all go away...

US will sack a village to avenge the death of one of their citizens but hundreds of citizens are killed everyday, yet he cares less...

  59. Jona what is the matter with you? Stop embarrassing yourself. How can you not know your trouble spots. Fire your advisers, I can bet they laugh at you behind closed doors.

  63. Stella are you for real??? The president of Nigeria does not know where the location of extreme violence and terrorist takeover is taking place in a country he's supposed to be leading? This information has been in the news for days. I don't even live in Nigeria and I know where Gwoza is. How do I know? I took time to do some research after it was invaded by militants. How does the president not do the same thing. That's his job! This clearly shows a president that is not only clueless but completely disconnected from the serious issues that country is facing. I don't know about you but I think there's something fundamentally WRONG with GEJ not knowing or seeking to know this information.

  65. Wow...President "I don't give a damn!" has really shown that he doesn't. Stella, I come to your blog because you are usually objective, truthful and show maturity. On this one, I say your comment is disappointing! But hey it is your blog. I would say, we get the leaders we deserve and should forget a progressive Nigeria since it seems from the comments at least half of us see absolutely nothing wrong in this little incident. Yes, I am a Lagos born and bred chick and yes there are some places even in Lagos I haven't heard about. So I know it's impossible for anyone to know every nook and cranny in Nigeria, even our President. However, Gwoza has been in the news since at least May when this Emir's father was killed. Secondly, HE called a meeting and thus should have done his homework. Thirdly, the way the question was nonchalantly thrown out was a slap in the face of those who have been devastated by these killings. Perhaps his aides did him wrong but the buck stops with him and if he were a strong leader and demanded certain things, this would not have happened. Imagine for example if when the Sandy Hook killing of the children happened, and Obama came out at a press conference or at an audience with the parents and was like "Oh, btw, where is Sandy Hook??". Before the killings who had heard of Sandy Hook??? Nothing wrong with being a PDP member or supporting your own. Afterall we claim to be a democracy. However, the freedom of that entails having the guts to call your president out when he is wrong. *Still hoping the story is false*

  66. "Hypocrites. Let him that is not guilty cast the first stone".
Most critics who who making the most noise still don't know where Gwoza is, despite of all the media interest the current saga has generated. The President's mistake is tolerable, to the extent that Gwoza is close to Adamawa state. Those who reside here in the North know how often one town spills into another. Infact, some towns have continuing territories in other states. In that circumstance, it is wise that Mr. President sought clarification on what part of Gwoza was affected. Pathetic how some Nigerians laugh at serious matters. Maybe that's why we are the happiest people in the world. Keep laughing while the world moves forward.
