Uduaghan Says Human Capital Devt. Agenda, A Success...

......As Okagbare Bags Sun Newspapers Sports Person Award

DELTA State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has described the feat recorded by the fastest woman in Africa, Blessing Okagbare as one of the gains of his administration’s Human Capital Development agenda.

Speaking when management of The Sun Newspapers presented a letter of

Sports Person of the Year award to Blessing Okagbare (now Mrs Ighoteguonor) in Asaba yesterday (07/01/15), Governor Uduaghan stated that his administration invested in the athlete and other Deltans, observing that such investments were not only a blessing to Delta State, Nigeria but to Africans.

According to him, the success recorded by Blessing Okagbare at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland was a great feat for Nigeria after years of not winning medals at the Commonwealth Games.
He asserted that it was a thing of pride to see the world stand still for Nigeria’s national anthem as a result of the laurels won by Blessing Okagbare and Ese Brume who are Deltans.

Dr Uduaghan stated that the greatest asset of the state is in human capital development and his administration has encouraged Deltans to excel in their chosen fields.
“Blessing is a product of our Human Capital Development scheme and we believe that the state is not just rich in oil alone but is richer in human talent and we should be able to develop whatever potentials any Deltan exhibits be it in sports or entertainment,” Governor Uduaghan said.

Governor Uduaghan expressed hope that Blessing Okagbare would also, do Nigeria proud at the 2016 Olympic games.

Presenting the letter of award to Blessing Okagbare, the General Editor, Sun Newspaper, Mrs. Funke Egbemode commended Governor Uduaghan on his administration’s stride in human capital development of which Blessing Okagbare was a beneficiary.

She commended the state government’s effort to transform the sporting, health, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

Blessing Okagbare dedicated the award and series of awards she has received to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in particular, Deltans and Nigerians.
She also, thanked the management of The Sun Newspapers for the recognition as assured that she would continue to do her best for the state and the country.

Congrats to Mary.

In my secondary school days,I was the champion in my school and in the stadium,I was the inter4chool celeb. My dad also honed my table tennis skills too but my major champioNship was in one sport.
