After almost 7 Hours Siege, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have finally arrested Ogun East senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu his Lekki, Lagos residence.
Kashamu had earlier threatened to commit suicide if men of the NDLEA break his bedroom door or try to forcefully take him from his home.
At some point, he pleaded for a “house arrest” until Monday when a competent court can decide on the legality of his extradition but all that is to no avail now as he has been placed under house arrest.
Earlier today (Saturday) NDLEA operatives stormed his home with intentions to extradite him to the United States for drug related offences in the US, which he
has repeatedly denied.
Na wah oh....Are they allowed to just remove him like that with proper legal representation?This man didnt do his homework at all...ah ah!!

My dear the case ehn, OBJ has dealt ruthlessly with GEJ,..now it's Kashamu's turn. This matter is inter wound. My perception of it is that they do not want him to be sworn in as a senator. OBJ and OGD think it's an insult to the people of Ogun state, esp to those from the eastern part of the district. .
DeleteIt started from the primary election they had, they said Kashamu bribed to win the primaries. Then the election itself was reported rigged. And as it appeared, Kashamu has a mammoth number of followers who still insist that hey prefer him to represent them as senator. As money don change hand, the grass root people launched a protest and swore to kill to maintain his mandate.
On seeing that Kashamu may have won the heart of the people, OBJ decided to re strategize.. using the power from above. Iphie u know wetin finish this man? Jonathan losing the election finished him. Gej was his cover.
OBJ swore Buruji will not smell the Senate, talk less of him being inaugurated. That's why when apc won, Kashamu stared to famz Tinubu, because he thought that his downfall may come from Buhari...not knowing that OBJ was still on the matter. Now they blame Bode George and his wife for the invasion. Well, baba Iyabo has finished his matter in the U.S. He called for them to come extradite Kashamu. That man will see to the end o. OBJ ain't playing at all.
Kashamu got the wind of this early enough from grapevine source that he would be extradited. That was why he ran to the court to stop the order. However, if due process is followed he'll be in the U.S this time next week.
He should better not commit suicide. It means he knows he'll be jailed if taken to the U.S. If u say that u are innocent, why kill yourself ahead of ur trial na. Chai na so this man go take miss his senatorial mandate o. This is quite interesting and a case study. Make I dey observe dey go.

Obj wrote an open letter then that he can't be chairman as per say he get case with the US over drug trafficking. He didn't listen.
That was one if the reasons OBJ left PDP.

DeleteOGD is included in the bu ah ah in a way because they (Kashamu) both wanted the same senatorial position before Kashamu rigged tru... although it was reported that they had reached a comfortable agreement btw them. Although, OGD and OBJ are not friends, but they agree against Kashamu...OGD wanted the senatorial slot badly.
The issue started even before the primaries, as it were, OGD stood a better chance but Kashamu had more money to throw around. And they also had the issue of the gubernatorial candidate after Kashamu hijacked Gboyega Isiaka... whom everyone knows was nurtured into politics by OGD.
OGD may not be conspicuously involved in this matter but he also wants Kashamu out of the way. That's a fact.
@gbogbo big girls, true talk ... Obj's main issue was with why Kashamu would over see the PDP in the SW, that was his main grouse with the party apart from the personal issues they had..which mainly was his closeness to GEJ.
However, the senatorial ambition was a huge slap on OBJ's face, he thought Kashamu's impunity hit the crescendo, and as such he needed to have the last laugh. Abeg I tire, this is one saga I can't wait to see the end ooo

DeleteOf course it's in order. He has an extradition order from the U.S. Which has been presented to the law enforcement agency in Nigeria. And in line with the order of extradition, it was approved by the judge here . even tough he has a case pending in court on Monday. Where it would be determined whether to take him to the U.S or not. I don't see how they won't extradite him though. Except he disappears in that courtroom on Monday.

ReplyDeleteThe court will decide whether he will be extradited to the US or not? The NDLEA cannot extradite Buruji without court decision since Buruji is a suspect and still innocent until proven guilty.
