Former Miss Nigeria,Rita Anuku Dies At 47


Former Miss Nigeria 1986, Ms. Rita Anuku, 47, is dead.




A statement released by the family said the late beauty queen passed away on Thursday at an undisclosed Abuja hospital.


It said Anuku, who became a beauty queen at age 18 had been battling with cancer for two years.

The deceased, who is also the younger sister of Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, is survived by four children; three girls and a boy.

Burial arrangement is expected to be announced by the family soon.

      Medically, there is no specific cause hence no cure for it.......

      Loosing my mum to cancer as a child made me learn a whole lot about the disease. It is deadly and the pain involved is not what you wish on your enemy.

      Infact it has become the number one killer of man these days. AIDS that was the most dreaded is now child's play. With the different types of cancer now.. as if it never existed, or we were oblivious to how quick it can kill. You know Nigerians are secretive and would not disclose their ailments except in extreme cases. Cancer has always existed, but in hush tones. The cause is what I couldn't tell, expect the experts enlighten us. Simply Dreadful
