OVULATION?

DH and I have been TTC for exactly 12 months without success. This month I went on my second round of clomid and I've been expecting my ovulation since yesterday (monday). When I took clomid last month my ovulation was 5 days late but my period still came on the exact day it was supposed to. 


Just yesterday evening, I went to pee and I noticed very thick Cervical mucus(CM). I'm really scared as I have never experienced such quantity.




 I attached the pics. You may not post them cos they look really bizarre but I wish you would so people can understand what I mean. Please has anyone experienced such? I don't know if I should be worried but I really am. Doctors and mothers in the house please what does this VERY THICK CM mean?




 Is it as a result of the clomid? I also noticed I do not have the slimy CM during ovulation. It's rather thick. We'll definitely see a doctor next month because the one we saw 3 months ago said we should keep trying till we're one year. Thank you all.

      Your CM is“hostile”, meaning it is thick and sticky, instead of thin and stretchy around ovulation.

    Thick CM is all signs of infertility and inadequate ovulation. Normal CM supposed to be more like egg white. Check this out with your doctor not SDK. Good luck on ur TTC.

    May the Lord continue to strengthen you as you wait on him. I do not know about this quantity, but clomid definitely dries you up, hence will explain the texture of the cm. You might want to ease up on then clomid and ask your doctor if there are alternatives. Thanks be to God, was battling chronic pcos, my doctor didn't allow me more than 3 rounds of clomid, then I had 2 iuis and 1 ivf. None worked, then it just happened. Proud mama now. So ask ur doctor.

    Jeez! The CM is quite much, I guess is the clomid that caused it.
    I noticed that since I gave birth the quantity of my CM has increased during ovulation. I usually have the slimy type but its now thick. I hope its normal

    Madam...the good news is that u are indeed ovulating

    The bad news is that the picture of cervical mucus up there depicts a hostile cervical mucus and as such prevents sperm from passing thru.

    Ordinarily d CM protects sperm on their way to the promise land but urs or rather a hostile CM harms dem sperm b4 it gets to d promise land.

    Prognosis-- such thick CM only makes it more difficult for u to get pregnant.

    Causes-- the above occurs as a result of poor diet, inadequate intake of water, stress, hormonal imbalance and as a result of CLOMID ohh yes u heard me right; CLOMID.
    It's often been seen as one of d side effect of taking clomiphene citrate or clomid as u guys call it

    Advice/cure--- improve ur diet, take lotsa water, reduce stress, reduce ur intake of milk infact diary products generally

    And yes...hope u aint on any allergy drug?

    I know u might be wandering is this all...yes madam; this is all u need to do

    Ps--- buy fertile Cm supplements,its being sold in most of this well women centres

    My dear, you have an infection. Probably urinary tract infection. I'v had smthn similar, but the discharge wasn't as much as dis, but also yellow. I went to the Doc in the UK and I was given anti-biotics. If left untreated UTI can lead to complications of infertility. I don't know much abt clomid or whatever its called, but this seems like an infection and you need strong anti-biotics.
    Don't go to chemist o, I Doc will advice which anti-biotics to place you on. Dats if its UTI o, im not a doctor.

    Poster, cervical mucus thickening may result in patients taking clomid, what this does eventually is that it potentially decrease the ability of sperm to reach the oocyte. So you have to continue the therapy again come next month. Though what you are experiencing only happens in a small percentage of users. Talk to your doctor about introducing estrogens to combat this problem. Goodluck next month.

    BVs pls stop self medication! Who prescribed clomid for u? If u have any issues go see a Dr N don't just go on clomid. Well, is only in Nigeria that one can buy any medication over the counter, in a more developed country, will u ever know what clomid looks like until a Dr prescribes it.

    Oh dear, that's a bit much. I think your first priority is to go straight to hospital and see a fertility expert. You need a hormone profile done as well as a full STD check. You should also start taking pregnancy related vitamin supplements like Centrium pregnancy care in pink pack and folic acid 5mg. If you add soya milk to your diet, it will also help regulate your oestrogen level. I reallyh hope you listen and act fast. Good luck and all the best.

    Take cough syrup/tablet mucinex. It thins mucus and will thin your CM.(making it easy for sperm to flow in) Google it and look for the 9ja cough medicine that thins mucus (not dry) . main ingredient shd be guaifenesin. Don't buy the one with dextromethorpan.
