Devaluation will atleast help and our President isn't the intelligent type but he has a VP who's far more intelligent than him but I guess he has refused to.consult him on certain issues. 4. This boy? You have dragged your myopic foolishness here? How do you not know that the budget document was padded by fifth columnists in the budget office. That's their business for ages. They then look for a way to bring out the money from govt.later.Must I explain everything to you? I warned people like you not to abandon school.

  7. What about all the loots recovered from the past administration looters? All that kokos put together, the ones Osho baba said is stashed in foreign accounts of politicians abroad and the fictitious government accounts that this very meticulous and prudent government under Buhari have uncovered? They don't want to use it to fund the budget in case it conterminates it abi? Oh oh I forgot they want to collect all before they can start accessing it, the loan from China is it interest free? Baba, baba, baba know that you can fool some people sometimes but can't fool all the people all the time.do not allowed the prediction of the West to come to pass fa, Gej was smart to put them to shame, pls toll his wise line and listen to advice now, no Matter how old you're you can never be older than your mother, ishiegwali.

  8. Please if this loan is going to initiate economic recovery, why not?
This overvaluation of the Naira is holding down investors especially in the oil sector. Everywhere is just stagnant and boring. Other oil explorers like Angola and even Colombia keeps devaluing their currencies. What is this Govt waiting for to devalue or float the Naira? What? Just look at how prohibitive the cost of commercial borrowing has become. Everyone is overcautious sef.

This is one tough bargain ahead, but God lead you Miss Adeosun, I know you can do this tight rope. Hope the CBN Gov Emefiele is part of the entourage though.
    Safe journey.

    Good morning Blog Family

    1. Pls enlighten me. What does devaluing the naira entail. Like how's it done?

    2. I asked this same thing yesterday.. Why is the government taking so much time on devaluing the naira because I have been made to understand it would be profitable for us...

The hardship in the country is appalling.. I pity very poor people really because either don't know how they come at this time when price in everything has hiked..

      Please devalue the naira already

And if this fund will help Nigeria economy please let them go ahead with it. Besides even the United state of America was as of last year owing China..

Meanwhile all recovered funds including that of abacha should be thrown into the already dwindling economy..

Just maybe things will look up before the end of the year..

And can the budget be fixed already. Let them correct every errors there because we don't have any more money for more thieves to steal

    3. Fab Mum...that is the index analysis. The corresponding analysis no one wants to hear because everyone wants to buy things at a cheaper rate than it was last year. God will give PMB the Grace to make the bold decision.

Eka Joy...let me break it down in local parlance.
Assuming say you dey live for Ikeja n you enter MATE Supermarket with N10,000 for a mini weekend shopping. And instead of N2,350 for a gallon of Wesson Canola Oil na N3,900 you see, Packet of Peak Milk refill na N1,350 instead of 980, packet of Golden Morn N920 instead of N755, Colgate Whitening Mini Pack na N610 instead of N350 and finally your hair relaxer Motions na N2, 400 instead of N1,750. These 5 items only in your shopping cart and N10,000 no reach. You Neva add sugar, tin tomatoes, tissue roll, airfreshener, maggi nor your body cream. You go begin sweat na You know wetin happen? Your N10,000 wey dey give you full shopping cart don useless na 5 things e fit buy...
      .
Now for devaluation if Govt pegs dollar at a fixed price since Naira has lost 35% of its value in d last one year, the owner of MATE super mart will import at a higher dollar price, and consequently jack up his prices, because he has to make his own profit. Nothing is coming from within, Nigeria is an Import dependent nation from cotton bud to toothpick. We are a food-deficit nation.
Devaluing the naira means that Canola will be imported at a high dollar price and be sold at a high naira value. Our pocket go hear am. But then to balance it, Nigeria will earn more Naira from oil proceeds and sales over a period, because the flexibility will strengthen the gap.
The question now is.... Are you Eka Joy ready to pay N4,500 for a gallon of Wesson Canola whilst waiting for oil proceeds to bridge the gap?
      That is the fear.
      Good day.

  9. We all know what this will mean, a further influx of Chinese investors in Nigeria, who will not only take advantage of what this incurred debt will mean - virtual take-over of Naija - Nigeria will be a large hoke for dumping more low quality goods that would never pass safety tests in other developed countries.

By the way, why aren't all those businesses owned by those thieves raided? Hard right? Once the oil money leaves Naija na sai gobe for real.

    1. Countries like USA borrow, why can't we?? You don't build a nation alone

It's like business.. For you to go far in it you need investors and cash to take it to that high level. Same as a country. You need investors to sink in their money into the economy. You need to borrow where is needed for the future good

But what we should pray for is that the money be used for what they intend to do with it.. Not some politicians pocketing it

  11. That money is in some politicians account. Recover the looted funds and fix the problem. Clueless cursed country

  12. That is what you get when you have an administration without focus in power. what happened to all the loots they claimed to have recovered? An administration where the minister of health came to the senate to say he doesn't know how the amount got that high. Budget of irregularities. God help us.

  17. Okay, maybe I'm not the best person to comment on the affairs of the state as I'm only educated on Nigerian politics from what I read here but what about all that Money Abacha stole? Is that not enough money to reduce the amount they are trying to borrow? What happens when they can't pay off the debt?..Ah well, what do I know.

  18. The best this govt can do Is to encourage the sale of nigeria products, reduce importation and encourage local manufacturers. Aid easier access to loan and encourage local manufacturers.
