Carex Antiseptics,Premier Cool And PZ Cussons Foundation Celebrate The Biggest Global Handwashing Day In Nigeria

Carex Antiseptics and Premier Cool, in conjunction with PZ Cussons Foundation and Concern Universal, recently hosted the biggest Global Handwashing Day event in Nigeria. The campaign which is held annually aims to educate children on the importance of effective handwashing.






The event took place on Saturday, 15th of October at the prestigious MUSON Centre, Onikan Lagos, in commemoration of the finale of the month long campaign that saw over 2,000 children from 180 schools empowered to return to their schools and communities to spread the campaign’s vital message of effective handwashing though their participation at various handwashing games and demonstrations across Central and Southern Nigeria. 



The finale which had over 400 children present had the super talented Koffi as its compere for the day. The key highlight of the event was the talent competition tagged ‘CareX Factor’ where the children performed their own rendition of the Global Handwashing Day theme song (Wash Your Hands O!) created by Concern Universal’s brand ambassador, Sunny Neji.

The event was not devoid of dignitaries as the First Lady of Cross River state, Dr Linda Ayade, Representative of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs. Solarin Titilayo, National Coordinator WSSCC Nigeria, Mrs. Priscilla Acharya, Director General Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu, Director, SON Engr (Mrs.) Ayeni; Registrar APCON, Alhaji Kankarofi, Directors from NAFDAC, Mrs Maureem Ebigbeyi, Pharm. Owolabi, Dr. Monica Ejembe, the Honorable Commissioner of Youth and Sport, Lagos State, Mr Lanre Rufai as well the Managing Director, Family Care, PZ Cussons Nigeria, Mr Alex Goma, and Corporate Affairs and Admin Director, Mrs Yomi Ifaturoti all graced the occasion in support of the theme ‘making handwashing a habit’ as an effective way to preventing diseases and preventable deaths in Nigeria.
