Doctors In House Section

Doctors, please come and correct this lie ooooh.

SERIOUS MONTHLY PAIN

Hi Stellz. I am an ardent blog visitor and You are really doing a great job with your blog. I must admit that I've learnt a whole lot on this platform. Jisie ike!!
pls my fellow BVs,  I always have a serious menstrual pain. When I say serious, I mean SERIOUS.

The cramp is out of this world. I vomit, I run a fever, feel cold at the same time, I throw fit, my lower abdomen will so be on fire. Which drug have I not taken? Both agbo and English drugs.

Since I started seeing my period as a teenager, it has been like this and my mum has been so worried. So I confided in my best friend and she told me dat I need to be sexually active ( I'm a virgin). That when I start having sex, my v-jay will be open and free for blood to pass easily without an iota of pain. Is it true?

Pls fellow BVs, what else can I do, or take in order to stop this monthly sickness. Thanks and sorry 4 the epistle.. I really need advice.

    11. I used to be like you poster,I remember taking felvin(drug)to ease the pain and I finish a whole sachet within 3days. They usually tell me that the drug will disrupt my ability to conceive but I'm a mother of two now. Though I still have slight pains but my felvin is always at my rescue. I could remember at 13years when my grandma took me to doctor bcos of the pain and the doctor said it won't go until I start having children but after my first child I was still having the pain and mine were so serious that I had to hold my breath at intervals I also had difficulty to poop or pee while I'm on my period... Sha try felvin or ibuprofen I pray it works for you as well

  17. Hmmm, will read comments. Bvs pls, someone told that if you have never menstrated & you are a virgin, sex will help the monthly flow to start! How does that correlate?

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have menstrual cramps too, and was told after child birth, the pain goes away. After 2 kids I still have monthly cramps. So advice not true.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Now that's totally false. What you have is primary dysmenorrhoea, so many young ladies experience it. Sex DOES NOT cure it. However, childbirth is what reduces it. Do not listen to ur friend.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's a FAT lie..dear poster am so sorry, so far it can only be managed it's your cross from nature. My wife experiences exactly the same things during her menses both before we got married and afterwards. The frequent sex didn't reduce it one bit. The only thing that did was PREGNANCY. so now we are hoping that after she gives birth it might reduce. So please SEX wouldn't ease the pain.your friend just wants you to join her in the 'deflowered but proud' club. It will get less painful as you grow. try to take pain relieve a day ahead of your period. Sorry dear its one of those rare gift of nature to some special women.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sex has nothing to do with menstrual pain. Some women do suffer severe menstrual pain with no pathology attached to it and this may wane with age.

Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause menstrual pain in serially active women. However another cause of severe menstrual pain is endometriosis. You need to see ur doctor so that the cause can be investigated.

  25. its not true...our hormones are the ones at work. for instance i used to have serious cramps before i got married (as a virgin) and it still did not stop in fact after i had my son 2 years ago the pain and flow has increased so our bodies are different and sex does not have anything to do with from my experience.

  28. I used to have such menstrual pain which continued until I got married and have birth. How I managed mine was towards the onset of my period maybe a week to it, I stop taking sugary things (juice, soft drinks, biscuits, beverages etc) The pain won't stop entirely but it reduces it drastically. My mum used to apply hot water on my tummy when the pain becomes unbearable though that was before I discovered the sugar part. I also took felvin tablets.

Keep it for your husband, as you grow older the pain reduces

  39. My dear you don't need to have sex to stop the pain!! Be weary of the Kind of advice you receive. Please like someone mentioned earlier, a week to the date of your menses, either take sweedish or yoyo bitters or any other good bitters or abstain from sugary things like Ice cream, soft drinks and all. You would notice the pain would reduce substantially. However if it persists after doing the former, you might need to consult a doctor for possible medical diagnosis, as it could be a symptom of something.#Dontbemisguided

Childbirth stopped my sister's own so hopefully it will stop mine. When I'm menstrauting ehn, don't even smile unnecessarily near me, Dont shake me or the bed or chair am lying on, i brush several times cause my mouth always have this fowl odour (i dont know why) or i just keep chewing gum if you complain about the sound, i'll insult your life, i just turn to something else during that periodso most times i just respect myself and stay indoors. And bennylin is my new addiction now it stops the pain and sometimes the bleeding

I was told after child birth it will stop. After my first delivery it continued even with the same severe if not more self pain. But after my second delivery it stopped. I have friends who already have 3 children but still experience menstrual cramp. Being sexually active does not stop it.

  59. Probably early stages of endometriosis, ovarian cysts or fibroids. Don't be afraid. Most African women have one of the 3 from mild to severe forms. Some don't even have symptoms. PLEASE STOP SELF MEDICATING, it has some long term side effects. See a doctor for an ultrasound and make some changes to your diet. Loose some weight, stop eating anything that contains milk and soy. That includes maggi. Like I said, no need to be scared you'll be fine.

  61. Treat for infection if present, but the truth about dysmenorrhea is that it will reduce or stop on its own after sometime, especially as you get older. Being a virgin is not a cause of dysmenorrhea, and pls, avoid NSAIDS o, their long term side effects are dangerous. Meanwhile, mild exercise like squats and massaging your lower abdomen with warm towel will help reduce the pain. Dooh! *sexy 9ja nurse*

  62. Babe run away from sugar.. I mean sugar and anything that contains sugar. That was how my own cramps stopped from 19-till date.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Losing your virginity will not solve the problem, you are suffering from primary dysmenorrhea, usually when conception does not occur m,the lining of the uterus(womb) that was ready for the baby had fertilization occurred sheds it's lining (functional layer of the endometrium). This lining that is shed is expelled through a tiny exit into the vagina and is seen as menses, now, the process of expulsion is aided by chemical substances called prostaglandins which in some patients is in large quantity thereby causing excessive contractions of the womb(felt as severe cramps),taking drugs like ibuprofen, diclofenac(NSAIDs)shortly before the period starts till a few days after helps.reduce sugar intake, exercise, rub your abdomen with warm towel.I hope this helps you.thanks

  64. Sorry for the pain dear. I was once like you until after my 3rd child. Sex doesn't have anything to do with menstrual pain unless you plan to start having kids. so please do not engage in fornication which could ruin your future. Start taking Ibuprofen 2/3 days before your period, avoid sugary stuff and drink warm water to manage the pain dear. Thats the price of being a woman.
As soon as you are through with your education, please do not delay marriage and start having kids early because Endometriosis have being linked to most women with serious menstrual pain. Endometriosis could cause infertility or delay in getting pregnant so the early you start, the better my dear.

  68. The pains I experienced during my period those days can't be imagined.
I lie down all day writhing in pain.
I throw up,I lose my appetite etc.
    Buscopan wasn't strong enough.

I started using Feldene and it really helped.
The catch though is to use it a day or 2 before your period starts.

Another thing that worked for me was a couple of sit ups before my period.
Get a hot water bottle too.
Whatever remedy you are using... do it before your period.
Please avoid codeine or bennylin like some people suggested... codeine is now used to achieve cheap highness and it is addictive.
Please whatever drug you want to take, consult your doctor first.
In my opinion, the sit ups are harmless, you should try that.
The pains disappeared after I gave birth🙏
