Chronicle Of Blog Visitor Narrative

WOW!!!

STAND ALONE NARRATIVE::

RETURNING THE RING FOR FEAR OF BEING EATEN ALIVE....
My bosom friend met a guy from Ngwaa in Abia State and she's from Enugu state. The guy in question loves her so much and worship the ground she walks on. The relationship has been going on well and smooth.

She somewhat knew that le boo wants to wife her anytime soon but the peoblem is that any time she asks someone of how Ngwaa people are, they keep saying that part of igbo is bad. This is because of the old tales of cannibalism they were known for.

 Few days ago, the guy surprised her and popped the question in public, she couldn't help but said yes because it was in public. She told her family about it and the dad most especially kicked against it saying, people from Ngwaa are known for eating humans back then in the olden days and the stigma is still there. Even though they claimed to have stopped, they still eat foreigners (people that are not from ngwa). Also said they are wicked and very lazy. They don't take care of their wives.

Now my friend is seriously considering breaking off the engagement and returning the ring. I have talked and advised her that what matters is the guy's personality and his family she's dealing with not the entire village. She hasn't been herself. I have been the one holding her back from returning the ring.

Now my questions are; does this cannibalism of a thing still exist in Ngwaa? Is it true that they secretly do it especially to foreigners (people that are not from there especially the non-abians).

I really want those from Ngwaa to say something about this and women from other states that got married to Ngwa men to tell us their own experience and if any of these is true or still exist.

It's really heartbreaking that the tribalism that exist among the igbos is just too much.

My friend will be reading this as I told her that I have a blog family on SDK that will throw more light on this.

Thanks a lot Stella.

*Errrmm let me read comments please cos i dont know anything about this but why didnt your friend find out about him and register her fear with him when the relationship wasnt serious?Its not fair that she just wants to return the ring like that...why hasnt he eaten her since whilst they were dating?

Na she sabi,one mans poison is another man's meat.

  10. It is a case of two sides of a coin. Yes, they were into cannibalism and some parts of Isialangwa are still into it. Hard to believe but it's true. How I know this? I served there(NYSC)and the things our eyes saw are better left alone. Meanwhile, at the orientation camp, we were told not to worry about it as no corp members are not usually posted to that part of the village, but unfortunately for some of us, we were posted there.............some scary something I tell you. I ran away in less than a month with no form of relocation. Thank God for long legs tho, would have been a "corp member dropped-out" whatever that means. On the other hand, my very best fried in this whole world is from Isialangwa (surname is Odingwa) you can only but imagined how nice and God fearing this guy is. I've known him for over a decade now, married with beautiful kids. So in all, it depends on the personality you are dealing with. IT IS WELL WITH YOU.

  11. Hate speech every where. Fan Emmanuel, may God have mercy on your soul. Ngwa cannibalism is nothing but myths and stereotype. At least, the Aros that started the stereotype have rested because they've fulfilled their promise. This was a stereotype against Ngwans by the Aros because the Ngwans stopped them from carrying out slave trading which was their major business during the Colonial Era. An attempt of cutting off the neck of Aro slave Marchant by Ngwans brought the grievances and friction between Ngwans and Aros, which the Aros promised them to stereotype them with cannibalism from generation to generation. Be properly guided. Stories malign and enlightens. Repeat a story about a particular people, that's what they become. It never existed.

  12. Hmmmmm! Every talk; Ngwa people! Ngwa people! Ngwa people!. I am convinced that these so call people are very important, yes! Because where there is envious mockery, it is either a doubtless, exorbitant treasure is found there, or the people themselves are great. I am not being defendant, but the truth must be said. "Ngwa people" are the best in Igboland in every countenance. They are very popular and industrious. hardworking, well determined to face challenges, intelligent - whether gone to school or not. You could find people from other places who cannot spell their names, but such people don't exist in Ngwaland.. The well known Nigeria today is firstly mentioned "Abia", much as it is alphabetically, it still makes us the number one! You have arrived in Abia State, even though Umuahia is the capital, "ABA" is still the metropolitan area, comparing with "London" where people from different places live. Take your time and Google the list of industrious places in Africa, whether you will not find "Aba"... Abakiliki people no longer appreciate their demonym, now answering "Umu Aba" If you ask; they will say it's the short form of Abakiliki. Is it not obvious that many people want to indigenize Aba? If there is no love, veneration, nor an exorbitant treasure discovered there, would people dream of being called "Umu Aba"?.. Go to "Ariaria Aba" and see for yourself what's happening there, there is productions of everything to the greatest quality you will never expect that could be produced out of a common city where there is electrical instability. Our roads are not always good because of the constant visits, we were to believe that Aba is occupied by the people from every part of Nigeria, only to find out that even the people from other countries like; Cameroon, Gabon, Ghana, Togo, etc.... Come to Aba to buy goods. So, if you are to describe Aba, which word would you use? "GREAT". So now I ask again; who are the Abas? Is it not "Ndi Ngwa"?.. Talk about Ngwa women, they are likely dark skinned because of overlabour, they hardly go to school those days because they devoted much of their time into domestic works like; Farming, Production of palm-oil. Yet, it is hard to find an old Ngwa woman that is illiterate, and they impacted those skills to their children, that is why anywhere you see an Ngwa girl working, you will notice from the way she bends her beautiful waist in humility.. And infact, if you want to feed well, I advise you to come to Ngwaland, because
    "GARRI NGWA" remains hot cake in town.
