Maikori, 41, was rearrested on Friday and taken into custody in Kaduna after he honoured an invitation by the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Maikori was arrested following a Facebook post on the Southern Kaduna killings which he later retracted after it turned out the details of the post were inaccurate.
Despite apologising and retracting the post, the Police went ahead to arrest him.
The Kaduna State governor Malam Nasir El-Rufai recently stated that Maikori was granted bail and would soon be made to face trial.
Maikori has been taken to Kaduna State where he is expected to be arraigned soon.
*It is a pity that this has happened but this is a big lesson that we should all learn from - that our social media is a powerful weapon....The Law does not work in Nigeria and the governor seems to be out to teach a bitter lesson.
