The man probably did not mean it that way. He stated his reasons to be financial. The economic reality in Nigeria today has turned folks to zombies.
These days doctors do not take anything less than 150k to do CS. Greed is a disease superimposed on the "recession". And note that the politrictians do not know any recession.

I live in the UK and had my gorgeous ones by CS and my depressed in-law especially their elder sister has made it known twice that I dint do a good job.
With the second one she dint call me to congratulate me, called my husband and he gave me the phone and she said CS again; stupid idiot.
She actually told me I can't have a son for them but God will have His way and His name be glorified for ever; I had both sexes.
Children are gifts from God, so many people seeking the face of God amd I don't understand why anyone will fill uve done less by having through CS, its just ridiculous amd big time illiteracy.
Please tell the lady to enjoy every step of her baby because they grow really quick and you don't want yo forget each milestone cos she will be depressed and wont even remember where it all went.

That is no husband and she should leave with the child God gave her. What nonsense! Men that will act like they are about to die when they have the flu meanwhile you'd see a woman going through the same thing while taking care of kids and weathering the storm.
This story I believe because I remember a man giving a testimony in church thanking God for saving his wife's life after he refused to sign the papers agreeing for her to be operated on. They lost the baby but she survived. Women in church just started to murmur and hiss at his testimony. Imagine, risking his wife's life while using God as a wedge. Maternal mortality rate keeps increasing because some silly husbands refuse to sign off. Nigeria has the second highest maternal mortality rate in the world.
Arrant nonsense.

I just had my first baby 3 days ago via C-section and I don't see anything wrong in that. Any stupid man that thinks its easy should carry pregnancy and birth na, that man has a nonsense mentality.

Anonymous said...

Silly man. What if that was the only option for her? What if going through natural birth would've cost her her life? This is what happens when people are uneducated. It's like an illiterate that calls himself a Dr of Philosophy, gossiping that it is a shame that I had to be taken to the E.R for a thrombosed hemorrhoid. A woman almost 8 months pregnant? What shame is there in that? Hemorrhoids and constipation go hand in hand in pregnancy. I went through hell for almost 2weeks without painkillers, just Tylenol and a cream every 6hours. I saw another side of pain. Thank God I am better now. While he was injecting my swollen hems, and cutting it open to drain the blood,he doctor kept saying "don't worry, labour won't be as painful". Women go through a lot, and seeing this up there is so annoying. I am a first time mum, and whatever option I am given by the doctors, to secure my life and that of my baby, is what I will go for. God is faithful, and the lady up there will be fine.

The husband is insane! So, she should have killed herself trying to deliver their baby.

I don't see anything wrong in delivery through cesarean section. My lady friend delivered all her boys via C section even though she didn't wanted to, she even told her husband before hand not to signed the papers.
When she couldn't push anymore, she was begging her doctor to perform the c section.

When I was pregnant, I told my husband and my gynecologist that I was very opened to all options; but I delivered my baby within few hours of labour.

Women please, be open to all options. Your life and the life of your baby is more important.

Some are busy praying to have a child and some other people are bothered about how a child is birthed.
The most important thing is safe delivery, whether it is virginal or CS, let the cry of both the mother and child be heard at the end of the day.
CS is never a death sentence, I pity some women who allow ungrateful and unreasonable men to lead them to their early grave.

You are always advising women to leave, as if You would leave if you were the one.
Do you think it's that easy to leave?
I think the man should be educated or enlightened about ceasarian section.
If he knew how cs has been saving lives(both mothers and babies), he wouldn't make such careless statement.
Enlightenment about cs should be given to people( both men and women) in this part of the world!
So many people are still scared when it comes to cs, even the educated individuals.
And I also think cs should also be made more affordable to the people.

@ Anonymous, I am thinking towards this direction. I have been booked next week to go through the knife to deliver my twin babies. The doctor said their positions are not ok. But I am thinking of going for scan in another hospital because I feel that my present doctor deliberately want me to have c section just for the money sake. I can feel the position of my babies. 1 is already down, while 1 is breach but the doctor said the 1 that its head its down its actually transect. What do you suggest. I don't want the c section mainly of the money issue. I need your advise please.

Anonymous said...

I had my baby through c section, though i lost him a few days after I had him.

a friend visited me and started asking me why i allowed them section me.

I told her it was an emergency and the baby had to be delivered asap.

my friend started condemning me o. telling me that I should have prayed and that it is not good to have a section. She said she had a covenant with God that she will never go through a section. I was so angry eh. In my grieve I lashed her so much that she has refused to call me or pick my calls.

just because she had her 2 girls via vaginal birth doesn't mean the 3rd wont be a c section. Before she left my house,I told her that her next baby will be through a section so that she will understand that it is not of him that willeth nor runneth but of God that showeth mercy.

she left angrily but me no send o.

I am alive and I trust my God to do it again, that's all that matters....

Even with that, she should not be blamed. If he wasn't ready for eventualities, he shouldn't have impregnated her. There are so many reasons beyond her control that could lead to CS...the baby is too big, she is not dilating properly, etc.
If they didn't do the CS and the baby or mum dies, it is the man that will bring the story here and blame the hospital for negligence. The man has no point whatsoever. The welfare of his wife and child should be his ultimate goal at that point.

Na mumu dey worry am,

this is my testimony.

One fine Sun morning, I woke up to get ready for church at 6am, after going to wee next thing I felt something warm i got up saw blood dropping next was a gush at (36weeks+5 days) gastetional age. Bleeding? For belle women dey trip at how good I looked? So strong with no sickness at all, Oh! Lord No! Not after battling PCOS and getting pregnant after 3 yrs of being called a man at my 23yrs of age when I know we don't have such in my family.

I and hubby called on God, I called the women leader in the church to call pastor that all should pray for me and tell church too.

Off we headed to Prime Hospital that morning. When we got there, it was the junior Doc that was on duty as it was a sunday early morning.
I said to him look I'm 36 weeks gone and I'm bleeding and my baby is not moving... He was like how heavy I said I came with the bedsheet which I was standing on so no long talk.

When he saw the lumps and clot of blood, i was rushed in and they call all the specialist in the hospital that there is an emergency.... See me naked before 5 male docs i no fit shame o! my hubby no even fit shame self Lol! Him that used to tell me " no allow male doc do you scan oh!. My baby's heart beat was dropping to 134..... And i wasn't even diluted just 1cm the doc said Na SC o! He put his hand inside me and brought out heavy blood clot, he said to me and hubby look your planceta has detached from the womb wall and your baby is running out of hoxygen, i started talking to my little Angel, I told her we both came together alive and non of us is leaving without each other out of this hospital and never to the dead world, I scratched my tommy and she moved I said yes you can hear me.I didn't even think twice I said pls go ahead cause I know what planceta abuptrue means.

Hubby signed for a go ahead, bought blood and donated too. I asked him to call my family and inform them before people say he used us for money purpose cos when God start blessing you after long suffering people go say Na blood money.

After the operation I was still bleeding they were giving me injections to stop it. like 2 hrs plus... I started reacting to the pain killer given to me, my eyes were bulging out of the sockets with terrible headache and pain, see confussion doctors were running here and there, I was in pains and screaming, they gave me some drugs again to nutralise the pain killer and I was left to bear the pains of CS operation cos they were scared of what might happen next. my bum bum, my veins were all in pain from the injections and drips for up to 3 months I couldn't run cos of pains in my bum bum .

like 5 hrs after the operation my blood pressure sky rocked I became swollen like 4 times my size...

My mother in-law ( God bless that woman) took the place of my mum (RIP MOTHER) she would run into the toilet and cry her eyes out thinking I was not noticing her, she closed the curtains to prevent me from looking at the glass window. This woman and one of my friends cleaned out my blood, looked after our baby cos I couldn't come down to even breast feed, carry me both up and down the bed as I couldn't move due to how swollen I was, I noticed and called the doc on night duty that I was swollen he was just going round and round I said look I'm not a fool what is going on? My liver? Kidney? Or heart? That was when he told me my blood pressure is extremely high and my liver was not responding to drugs that they had to put me on observation. Hmmmmmmm only me?

My people God saw us through we both came out healthy and hearty. It took me 3 months to reduce from how swollen i was not baby weight o!.

When I called a Friend that I have given birth, first thing she asked was " Na natural birth?" I said no CS, she said ha weytin happened babe? You no fit push pikin? I just asked her you wey push way your award.

Is been 5yrs now and we are TTC again and by God's grace and time we will.

C.s is now like pure water. I had a c.s too... The Dr saw me at 38weeks 3days ... I had made my didi in preparation for labor ooo.I use general Hosp as back up.. I went for antenatal at my hMO hospital which is a private Hosp. That was how the gynae said my fundal height is 44 that d baby is big.. While going to general.. I had never had fundal height of 40sef.. Anyways that was how she told me she wants to check my vagina that the baby will b big probably 4.0 or 4.2kg. She put her hand inside left .. Right .. Center... U kno how dey check na... She said I won't be able to push the baby that I she would tell me d truth..and bluntly that it is c.s ooo.. She is booking me for d next day and that if I am adamant, I will sign that I refused c.s. bla bla bla. She also said something like if I go through labor.. D pain on my waist will b too much and d labor can later become obstructed and last last na c.s I go do after all labor pain... That was how I started crying oo. I felt she could have told me to do a pelvicmentry or something.. I was just confused and scared. I was told to do a scan at d hospital and d weight showed 3.9kg.and dey said na c.s ooo... I went home to go prepare my bag. I did an or scan outside and the weight said 3.7kg. I was confused on whether to go to general hospital for a second option. But at that time of the day, the consultants won't be around. So I will just see sub-drs under the consultant and I didn't want to trust those ones as in my mind, they are nt consultants yet. That was how I resigned to faith. Had d c.s d next day. To God be d glory.. Mum and son are doing fine. And the pain of c.s too is out of this world abeg. Now I think of my next pregnancy that I am sure the drs can say because I had cs first time... I shld have another. But God will give me the spirit of right discernment by that time.

Most of the comments against CS are made by ignorant & over-religious people. My wife put to bed few weeks ago via CS (although we initially planned for vagina delivery) cuz she was getting weak & the baby was beginning to get distressed. It cost me close to half a million (Which is extremely huge in this recession era) but I don't mind cuz my wife & prince are very healthy. Vaginal delivery is cheaper, so it's the choice of most people but if CS is the available option due to circumstances, kindly take it with speed to avoid stories that touch....

I had planned for vaginal birth, when after 4 hours I had only dilated 3cm. After been stubborn after 8 hours it was ascertained that my baby was too big to pass through my pelvis. I had no other alternative but to have a c-section. After having an almost 5kg baby due to gestational diabetes nobody had to tell me to opt for c-section for my other 4 kids. Only in Nigeria that people still have this archaic belief that having an operation makes you less of a woman.I also have a vertical scar due to the baby's breach position which I proudly call my battle scar.
