Labour Room Drama 209

WOW.....

Here goes my Labour room drama.....

I had a very stress free pregnancy, my baby was so quiet in the womb, he didn't give me much stress.

Fast forward to eight months I had preterm labour and it wasn't a funny something,("my baby was so eager to come out) so I was admitted in the hospital, the doctors tocolized me, I spent five days in the hospital and my Dr advised me to take one month bed rest for my baby to add more weight and develop fully...

According to him I stressed myself and baby a lot, so he advised me to take some rest.
After resting for one month, my Edd was almost approaching, I come de do all available exercise so as to give birth before or on my Edd,(pickin no gree come out.)

Few days later I went for antenatal, the Dr finished examining me and told me I was 2cm that I should stay back so that I will be induced, I blatantly refused, that I don't want to be induced, that It will be more painful..After much conviction from my mum(she's a nurse in the hospital) , her friends and the Dr, I still refused.

The Dr said OK that he lives me to my faith. I went to the chapel and cried to God and prayed, I told God I wanted to give birth that day or the next. (that was when I knew God answers prayers in the twinkle of an eye). After praying I went home to rest.

My hubby came bk after a short while and helped me to park mine and baby's things that I should prepare that we are going to the hospital whether I like it or not that I have passed my Edd so I should go and stay there, that he doesnt want me to be tensed, I told him I wasn't going any were. He kept on pleading with me, but I refused. A few minutes later I went to the restroom to ease myself, I saw my show immediately, I told hubby that I was ready he should come and take me to the hospital, hubby was so happy.

After putting my belongings in the car, we held hands and prayed together, then he drove me to the hospital around 7pm.
The nurses finished taking my history and gave me a bed. I was dilating slowly, around 11pm I was 4cm and at 4cm I wasn't even feeling any pain, I was wheeled to the labour room at 4cm and that was when the real DRAMA STARTED.

We were about 8 in the labour room .. Some women were screaming loudly while some were so calm while enduring the pain.. I was there forming strong babe until I entered 6cm and the contraction increased, I kept on calling on God and my mother Mary to come to my aid, the pain became more severe as the dilation increased. Luckily for me, my mum was by my side to encourage me.

When I was 8cm gone(that was the next morning) the woman beside me gave birth, after rubbing her anointing oil on her stomach, immediately I had the cry of her baby mine was so eager to come out.

I wanted to jump out from the bed oo because I felt like defecating, one of the nurses signalled the others that my baby's head was out, about four nurses came out immediately and asked me to push, that while doing that I shouldn't breathe(unfortunately I did and my baby went back). The nurses asked me to try again, and I repeated the same thing, omo see vex oo all of them come the hala for me, one even wanted to slap me(in her voice.. ''Do you want to kill Ur baby? I will give a dirty slap, common push this baby, when you were doing it u didn't know it was this painful''.

I tried again for the third time, ewoo baby no gree come out again oo, the nurses chased my mum out of the labour room, that she was distracting me.

Immediately she left I pushed with my whole might and strength, then one of the nurses gave me a cut, and my prince charming came out immediately.

Immediately after delivery the placenta came out, they beckoned on the doctors on duty to come and stitch me up, after stitching my neighbour up, they said they were on strike,my mum pleaded with them, they refused(but Dr's can be wicked Shaa). My mum had to go and call a nurse that can stitch very well to come and help out(omo that one na anoda pain oo, but I endured it all tru cos I was soo eager to see my baby.)

When she finished stitching me up, my baby was handed over to me.. I just shed tears of joy as I held my prince charming In my hands..

My son has been nothing but a blessing to my family and I keep thanking God everyday for choosing me as the mother of such a lovely boy. Attached here is our pics for Ur eyes alone.. Long live SDK and her readers.

  1. Thank God for you. Tocolized? I think it means to *tocolize* someone. First time I'm hearing that word.

    1. Aw 😍😍. I get goose pimples whenever I read anything about stitching up. How can a normal human being sew another human being without any painkiller?😨😨😨

  2. ....my labour room drama was something else.. I already bought different birth books and I was gifted some. I read them like I was going for an important exams. I practiced how to breath too( the long deep breathe and the short ones ) finally the labour started, I was practicing all I read, I can remember my mom visiting that evening and I never told her I was in labour because I wanted to surprise with my baby delivery story. I can remember going to the room to endure the pains whenever the contraction start. She had no clue that I started labour and she returned back to her home. So about 9pm I still read my book, I took a hot bath and told DH to take me to the hospital, I wore a very beautiful dress and had a nice make up on. When we got to the hospital the nurses asked who was on labour and I told them it was I. They were shocked to see my face well painted , and they asked why I had to do all that make up. I told them that I wanted my baby to see that his mother is a beautiful woman , so gave me a room and a bed, I was still enduring my pain believing the the books I read were useful, my thinking was that I was going to be delivered in 30mins time. My brothers and sisters I didn't know that what I was going thru was just a tip of what I later went thru.I was still forming macho woman until I was taken to the labour room around 12:00am, mehn that was when the who drama started o. I overheard my husband telling my sister that practical is different from rehearsal o... I didn't know how but somehow I forgot all about the books I read, I was only shouting JESUS JESUS, I threw away the little clothing's I had on and I didn't care about anything.. My baby finally came around 7:30am. I have never felt any pain compared to that till that

    5. I got a cut too and the stitching part wasn't funny at all. I kept screaming and begging the doctor to give me more injection to reduce the pain cuz I could feel the raw pain of the surgical needle.it got to a point that the doctor left me that I wasnt cooperating well. He sewed only a part ,it took my husband's intervention and begging before the doctor could come back to complete the stitches.

  7. I don't know about tocolized. Tocolytic medications are given to prevent preterm labor, examples are nifedipine and salbutamol. medications should be taken on doctors orders.

  8. I enjoyed your LD. Baby dust to everyone ttc

  9. Tocolized means she was given a 'tocolytic' agent to prevent Labour at that stage. The opposite is 'oxytocic' to induce labour. Stella Google the rest
