ReplyDeleteAs a follow up to what I posted yesterday, I got to know that the girls parents are late and she stays with her grand mom. The man who purports to marry the girl, has been showering her and her grand mom with gifts which the grand mom was accepting since the man hadn't made his intentions known. The grand mom thought he was just being generous.
When the man made his intention of marrying the girl known, the grandmother kicked against it and promptly banned him from further coming around and rejected his gifts. That should have put paid to the matter right? The girl wasn't having it.
She took a razor blade and inflicted deep lacerations on her arms and legs and would have bled out if she wasn't rushed to the hospital. She told her panicked and stricken grandmother that she'll keep doing that every chance she gets unless the grand mom gives her consent to the marriage.
I don't believe a 14 year old has agency to make a decision regarding marriage. But when she's beginning to threaten her own life, what's the point of not allowing her have her way? Not that counseling is readily available in these parts.
It is finished! What does a 14 year old know about marriage? Nawaa.

Pls, to those dat store cooked food in d freezer...I couldn't finish d okro soup I made during d weekend..I put d remaining one in d freezer... brought it out to eat yesterday...and it didn't taste like what I ate on Saturday..

Pretty normal with most frozen items. Freezing does change things the microscopic level with water expanding inside the cells and all. This can lead to a rather marked difference in tastes but I suppose it is something that shouldn't really matter in the end.
DeleteThe trick is to bring it out and allow it defrost completely before heating up. Also ensure its properly covered and use smaller containers for storage so you can only take out the needed quantity.

i don't know how you store your cooked food but i have been doing that for years and no serious change in taste. You should bring it out and allow it to defrost, microwave it or warm with low heat. Do not add much water, if possible warm without adding water to your soup.
