Chidozie was reported to have been shot four times by his wife during an argument inside their Houston apartment in front of their children.
He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital after police found him with gunshot wounds and his wife in a panic holding their two kids, aged three and two.
A Houston media outlet, ABC13, reports that court documents show that he was shot twice in the torso, once in the arm, and once in the chest.
It added that Keaiirra, 28, was afterwards charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the shooting, and her charges have not been upgraded since his death.
Investigators say that she claimed to have shot Chidozie in self-defence as she feared for her life during the argument when he followed her into their bedroom, where she picked up a pistol and shot him.
ABC13 further reports that Keaiirra has been released on bail and is set to next face court on May 23.

Now the guy just died like chicken and before you know it the woman will get a light charge and sentence. Why would you want to even harm somebody you claimed you love. What is marriage turning to? When a woman kills a man, it has to be proved she acted extra cold blooded for the woman to be punished. Murder by a woman is easier to prove if she is not at the scene and did it by the hand of another full-ish man who confess with iron clad corroborative evidence. In that case, she cannot plead the traditional self defence or felt threat to life.

Verdict: She acted in self defence or under threat to her life. Free to go home to her children and wait for another man.
The man would have had a sliver chance of justice if he was a Caucasian kpuffed by an African-American woman.
