CHRONICLE OF A MARRIED MAN

You need to read this.....

My mum came visiting recently and was in a sad mood. Her trusted bike man died and she was so heartbroken. The man used to run errands for her and had never let her down before his death.

The story was that he worked late into the night and on his way home, he fell into a ditch probably while avoiding a reckless driver. He was below while his bike fell on top of him. He managed to bring out his phone from his pocket to call his wife. Her phone rang many times, she didn't pick it up. He tried calling two other people whose lines were switched off. Then his own phone too went off. He had died by daybreak when passersby saw him in the ditch.

The cause of death was internal injuries that caused internal bleeding, his bike falling on him had caused damage inside his body and he couldn't lift it up all by himself and free himself, so he laid still in that position and bled to death as it was late, only a few vehicles sped pass, no pedestrian.

The lesson in this story is that we should endeavour to pick our calls at all times.
Also, we should make sure our phones are active throughout the day, including late nights. Do all you can to charge it.
If his wife had picked his call, he may not have died, if his friend and brother's lines were not switched off, they may have picked the call and he may not have died.
Lastly, don't be on the road late at night, of possible. Anything can happen and rescue effort may not come at that time.
I still feel sad when I remember. Rest in peace Ade.

  4. I always put my phone on airplane mode when I go to bed at nights. A better infrastructure would mean he could have called a national emergency line and get help. I hate hearing about anyone who died alone.

  9. There's no point blaming people for the sin of sleeping. Had she been roused from sleep and while struggling to steady herself fell, had fallen, hitting her head and dying as a result, it would have been another chronicle .
