  1. Hello bvs
Pls is it possible to go for a second degree in public health administration if the first degree is in business administration? I have HND in Business Administration and I would love to go for a university degree in public health administration. I don't have credit in any science subject in my WAEC certificate, should I register for GCE and get it before applying? Thanks bvs.

    1. Yes, it’s a good idea to register for GCE/WAEC or NECO as a private candidate and aim for at least credits in: Biology (most important), English Language, Mathematics, Possibly Chemistry or Physics (depending on the school)...

Explore the possibilities of direct entry into 200 level if you get credits in your GCE results and if it will accept your HND in business admin....

Some schools do conversion degrees like NOUN or private universities that allow you convert from HND to B.Sc.....

The 2 key things (1) Make your enquiries with your preferred school on the possibilities highlighted (2) Study hard to get credits in your O'level examinations...

      All the best....

    2. Have you checked the program to see what the requirements are? Only the university you intend to apply to can answer this.

    3. I understand the discrimination that exists in Nigeria between HND and BSc holders, but my dear, why consider rewriting WAEC/GCE? You can gain admission into the university through JAMB’s Direct Entry route.
A few years ago, I might have advised you to go for a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health which takes just one year and then proceed to a Master’s degree/ professional examination. However, I’ve come to realize that some companies don’t really consider professional or postgraduate qualifications when it comes to staff placement.

For example, someone who studied Economics and later obtained an ICAN certification is still not considered a core accountant. When it truly matters, companies tend to prefer those with a foundational degree in a course regardless of your years of experience or additional qualifications.
My advice is this, instead of rewriting WAEC/GCE go through Direct Entry. It is a more rewarding path

    4. Yes
But Go and check all about it

    5. Thanks Phoenix and the rest. Zaram the discrimination is the reason I want to get a university degree and I want a change of course. I will make enquiries in the school I like and write GCE. Then I will go the direct entry route cos I don't have strength for jamb and others

    6. For me it's not possible because.
      1. She did public administration as first degree. Inwhich this is Art subject. While public health administration is a science subject.
      2. Both of them are not related at all.
So you need to start afresh by writing WASCE or GCE in science subject. Then proceed to write jamb.

    1. Buy Auto Geles, Fascinators, Zara Hats and Simple Beret are great substitutes to head scarfs or Gele.....They will also elevate your look....

If you need to tie gele, ask a neighbour or friend that can help you or visit Youtube and learn how to tie simple gele styles....

      Delete
    2. Use YouTube. Different tribes have different ways of trying their scarf. You will see varieties according to your tribe and face type

    3. YouTube your sure bet, I learnt tying simple church styles with Youtube tutorials. Then you practice in front of your mirror.
Or like Phoenix said, get Zara hats & those lovely turban hats from Idumota market...they come in different colours too.

  4. Good afternoon Blogfam.
Please my English is very poor. Especially my writing aspect. How can Improve. I find it very difficult to compost words or to use big word .

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You don't need to use big words....Clarity and being understood is the hallmark of effective communication....However if you want to improve your vocabulary, you have to be an avid reader....You have to love reading.....Start with English premier book then buy story books...

Get a dictionary; if you discover a new word; find out the meaning from the dictionary and then make it a word for the day and apply it in a sentence e.g let's say you saw this word ''Boisterous'' which means noisy, cheerful....You can say to yourself ''Mama Lagbaja's baby is so boisterous'' ''Lagos is a boisterous city''.....Once you do that repeatedly, it sticks to your brain and you won't forget it....

      I hope this helps....

    2. Read
      Read
      Read again
Get good books to build your vocab & writing skills
Audio books or DVDs on pronunciations like those they use in language lab/phonetics that you can listen to & learn. You can also engage an English language teacher to help build your speech & writing skills. All the best.

    3. Then use small words that you understand. Also you can use Chatgpt to compose your written English. Just download the app

I have a 9-5 but I plan to work, after training only on weekends (Fri-Sun). Please advice me or what other business can I do that won't interfere with my work. Thank you all

    1. I feel like a lot of ppl have gone into this area and with how expensive things are these days you will be depending on slay queens and those with good disposal incomes for clientele. It’s risky because the training cost is significant. I would say only go for it if you are sure of your market.

Another factor is the kind of mutual fund you intend to invest in, like anon 16:08 said. go and make enquires at any branch of the bank close to you.

  16. Please I need urgent answer, is it compulsory under law to join a particular association that is not registered under government, for example tailor association, note that it's not tailor association, I just used it as an example?
I'm doing a business inside a particular market and they are forcing us to join association and be coming to meeting every Thursday, the form and the 🆔 card is 5k each, making the two 10k, note that the business is not a tangible one.

    1. Just do for peace of mind.
Because they can gaurd up again you and make the place on bearable for you. Except you have another alternative.or planning to leave soon.then don't pay . but if there's no plan of leaving anytime soon. Please pay.
      Am telling you from experience.

      Delete
    2. If not that you said the business is not tangible I would have advised that you join. There are lots of advantages of joining the association. They rise up in your defense incase you have issues in the line of business.

      Delete
    3. I think market ppl have to join something. But I always thought the fees you paid to sell in the market covered the membership.

Do further investigation, ask current members how it is for them, and see if they have a reduced fee for those who have intangible businesses.
