KNOW THIS

NO ONE sets out to marry without their parents’ consent. NO ONE.
Every son or daughter longs to walk into marriage with their family’s blessing.

But sometimes that consent never comes, not because the person is wrong, but because of selfish motives, tribal or denominational stereotypes, pride, or social status on the part of parents.
Too many people have settled for the wrong partner just to please their families.

Parental consent is good, yes, but let’s be honest, it’s NOT THE GLUE that holds a marriage together. Compatibility does.

Many had full parental blessings and still ended up in pain, abuse, or divorce.
Some are struggling right now, wishing they had stood firm and married the person they were first led to.

So yes, consent is valuable, but it’s not a divine guarantee of success in marriage.
It is compatibility, obedience to God’s design, and the willingness to work through seasons together that keep a marriage healthy, wholesome, and full of joy.

Let’s stop making consent an idol because it is not what sustains a marriage....

To The Parents.....
It’s time we put aside our own self-interest and start considering the true welfare of our children.
It’s wrong to withhold consent for reasons that are purely self-serving:
- “They’re not from our village.”
- “They’re not our tribe.”
- “They don’t attend our church.”
- “They don’t have the right job, or a car, or come from a wealthy family.”
Yes, you can show them the implications, if that’s your fear. Then give them room to ponder on what you have said. Your role as a parent is to guide, not intimidate.

Don’t weaponize consent as a tool for control.
After all, the Bible says, “He who finds a wife, finds a good thing,”
not “He whose parents find a wife for him.”
No be so?
And then we say, “A child cannot see what an elder sees, even from the top of a tree.”
Yes, that proverb speaks of experience, but tell me, did you marry from that tribe and see something deeply harmful yourself? Or are you judging from one or two stories that you heard in passing?
Do you not know that there are people who married from their own village, gan gan, and cry themselves to sleep every night? The fact that you are a parent does not automatically make your words wise, not if you refuse to broaden your perspective.

That’s not wisdom. It’s control, disguised as care. It’s not love. It’s trying to live through your children’s choices.
And then we twist Scripture, using “Honor your father and mother” to keep the control going on reasons that don’t hold water. That’s not honor. That’s manipulation in church clothes. Because WITHHOLDING CONSENT ON THE ABOVE GROUNDS makes you a tyrant, not a father or mother.

The same control you exerted during their childhood, must it now stretch into choosing who they spend their life with? Why are you so concerned about what will work for you, and not what will work for them?
If you say it’s not so, please tell me: how will marrying into that tribe ruin their marriage?
How will not being from a wealthy family destroy their happiness? How does insisting on an outrageous marriage list and bride price that chase prospective spouses away help them? How, biko? How? These are repugnant to natural justice, equity, and good conscience.
And to those who gave consent, but your children are now sobbing behind closed doors,
struggling in painful marriages, what have you done to ease their pain? Shey, you agreed for them to enter?

We are in the twenty-first century. Let’s rise above limited thinking and choose wisdom over tradition.
True love deserves support, NOT SABOTAGE!

BIRTHING A BABY IS BIG DEAL

If you, as a woman, make the decision to PUT YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE(because that is what it is) by getting pregnant for your husband, hear me clearly: That is the biggest thing you bring to the table. Period.

I don’t care how many women give birth daily. I do not care how ‘normal’ it seems. I hear people say, ‘Even mentally unstable women give birth too. What’s the big deal about childbirth?’

The big deal about childbirth is that it is literally a fight between life and death. It is a journey through hell and back. For some women, there is no return from that journey.

And just because it is common does not remove from the direness of the situation. Common does not mean casual. Common does not mean safe. Common does not mean easy.

Just because women have been doing it since forever does not make it any less terrifying. Just because our bodies are biologically equipped to nurture and birth a child does not make it any less risky.

Do you know how many women lose their lives from childbirth on a daily basis? I’ll tell you:

As of 2023, over 260,000 women ‘daid’ from childbirth-related causes. That’s about 712 women every single day. Every. Single. Day.
And do you know the country leading that number?
Our dear country, Nigeria.

A lot of these women pass on on the operating table. Some smiled at their babies once, just once, before closing their eyes forever. Some of them developed complications that took their lives hours after welcoming their bundle of joy.

Some women are SCARRED(not only scared) for life because of the trauma from childbirth. Some may never walk upright again because of epidural gone wrong. Some have CS scars that have chipped away at their self esteem, but they still keep their heads high because ‘My child is worth every scar’.

I even read the story of a woman whose limbs had to be amputated because of after-birth complications!

Do you know how many children are being raised by aunties, grandmothers, or foster mothers because their own mothers lost their lives while ‘giving’ them theirs?

And society still has the audacity to ask her what she brings to the table ‘APART FROM CHILDBIRTH’.

Excuse me?
The nerve!

And oh! Some of you even have the temerity to body-shame your wives whether subtly or openly for how their bodies are after childbirth.
Awon ‘she is now loose down there after “JUST” two kids’.

‘Her belly is covered in stretch marks that are just unsightly’.
‘Her belly is now wobbly and I don’t find her as attractive anymore’.
Only God will help me and punish you.

  2. I'm having a hectic tuesday, so I saw the replies to my malaria and typhoid comment on SP late,so I apologize for replying late here😔

I am not the type to joke with my health even as an AA patient for any reason, I have conducted not just 1 but 2 quality lab test over the last 3 months, and in 2 separate places just to be sure it's accurate, the first an hospital and the second a medical laboratory diagnostic center, and both results were the same, and only showed I was battling malaria & typhoid on both occasions due to mosquitoes, they recently migrated much this year to my neighborhood and the different insecticides I have tried are not that effective even after many tries, but this current malaria sickness was caused by my change of environment over the weekend when I traveled for an occasion, but i'm currently on medication and getting much better now😊.

Thanks a lot for your well wishes, suggestions and genuine concerns, I genuinely appreciate them all, God bless you all so much for me🙏🏽

To my lady, I say make I let you know, for all my 4 kids you go do exclusive for 6months for each of them, I say make I let you know on time, so that tomorrow now, you no go say Christian no tell you.😂🤣.

I did exclusive for 3 kids and gave my last child milk and I can tell you for free that my last child was the chubbiest baby I have ever had.

I have a friend who doesn't do exclusive, she gives her kids milk right from the start but single fat no dey her kids body till now o

It's not by exclusive my dear, I have seen people who couldn't afford baby milk, but added soya bean and crayfish to pap and their babies are so chubby and fresh too

      Delete
    2. Hehehehe 🤪🤪 duly noted..exclusive is very good but I can’t guarantee that 6months duration cos of work now 🤷‍♀️ moreover won’t you be needing the boobi too 🤭

    3. This is how you guys start the control and manipulation, what if the woman cant produce enough milk? Will you still 'force' her to breast feed?...honestly going to School does not guarantee intelligence!

Babies being chubby and fresh and smart doesn't have to do with exclusive breastfeeding my dear. Many factors determine these.

      Delete
    7. Not really true. Bottle fed babies are also chubby. Depends on genetics also. My baby was part breastfed and part bottle fed but she was born chubby and stayed chubby. And thats just her own God-given body cos hubby and I are not big at all.

  21. TEACH YOUR DAUGHTERS THAT
They are five (5) important dresses a woman should wear in her lifetime.
    These are:
    1. School uniform
    2. Matriculation gown
    3. Graduation gown
    4. Wedding gown
    5. Maternity gown
Let your daughters know that if any girl skips the 2nd dress, she will not get to wear the 3rd.
Daughters must not rush to wear the 5th just because a man has promised them the 4th.
More so, the 4th fits better and more prestigious if worn before the 5th.
Our daughters must learn to wait and follow the dress pattern from 1 to 5.
Be a good parent and leader.
We have this as a responsibility to our children as parents and it is very important.

The question was so random and I told him I wasn't doing any marriage audition and whatever he saw in me that made him approach me with a marriage proposal was what I would bring to the table"

  39. To My Fellow Muslims in Nigeria 🇳🇬

Let’s be honest with ourselves no emotion, no sentiment, just truth.

Yes, Muslims have also been killed in this country. Nobody denies that. We’ve lost innocent lives in mosques, villages, and marketplaces from Zamfara to Borno. But let’s stop twisting facts: who are the killers?

    Are they Christians? No.
    Are they Jews? No.
    Are they Buddhists? No.
They are Jihadists extremists who hide under the name of Islam to slaughter both Christians and Muslims who disagree with their madness.

So when Christians cry out that they are being massacred because of their faith, let’s stop rushing to say “Muslims are victims too.” That’s not the point. Christians are being targeted in the name of religion. Muslims are being killed for refusing to join in the madness. Both are victims but the ideology behind the killing wears a Jihadist face, not a Christian one.

No Christian has ever killed a Muslim in this country in the name of Jesus (pbuh). But how many times have we seen mobs shouting “Allahu Akbar” while burning churches and murdering innocent people? From Borno to Jos Plateau, from Kaduna to Yola these things happened, and we all know it.

    Remember Deborah Yakubu in Sokoto?
She was lynched in broad daylight and many Muslims, including lawyers, defended her killers. That was the moment Nigeria lost its moral compass. Instead of defending justice, we defended evil because the victim was a Christian and the killers were Muslims.

That’s why the world no longer takes our defense seriously. We can’t claim to be victims while defending the monsters among us.

Until Muslims in Nigeria openly condemn and fight Jihadists with the same energy they defend Islam, this bloodshed will never end. Every time you justify or stay silent, you’re empowering those who destroy our image and faith.

Let’s stop being hypocritical. This isn’t about defending religion it’s about saving our humanity. Islam means peace, but too many people have turned it into a weapon.

We must unite Muslims and Christians against the Jihadists who have hijacked our country. Enough is enough. Silence is no longer an option. ( Sa'adiyyah Adebisi Hassan)

  46. My HR people, please advise me.

If you having spent 6 months on the job awaiting confirmation and then receive a mail saying that it has been extended for spurious reasons, please what are the immediate next steps because I don't plan to sign that I have agreed to this.

How do I respond and do I have to sign anything?

    Please advise me thoroughly.
