ADANDIIGBO Boycotts Govt Version Of Adaimo Festivities

The  Most Beautiful Igbo Girl -2012  The Adandiigbo , Her Royal Majesty  Ogwueleka  Adaugo Chidalu was recently  in Imo state  . It was gathered  she attended the Igbo Tribute day as organized by the Government  on Chief Debe Ojukwu’s Invitation ,but failed to Attend the ADAIMO beauty Pageant as Organised by an Imo State  Government Parastatal . 

The delectable winner of the overall Igboland beauty pageant, The Adandiigbo, was escorted on her trip by   her Project manager Mrs Lovelyn Onuoha, members of the Adandiigbo TV Crew and a host of security details  .The  Nnewi born 8th  Adandiigbo title Holder was taciturn on why she was not at the AdaImo  beauty  festivities the previous day , She  refused to comment on the development and directed us to the  state government organizing committee  ,but , whispers and insinuations  indicate  that it may not be unconnected with  a raging faceoff between the Igbo youth organization and the organizing governmental Ministry  whom we gathered are trying to politicize the 9 Season  old  Igbo Pageant  crown and hijacking it for political concerns outside the original  promotion of the  Igbo language and culture it was Intended  . 

It would be recalled that  the AdaImo crown was originally  created by the Adandiigbo Cultural Pageant and has severally  been used as a determinant for the most beautiful and well behaved Igbo girl for Imo  State for every year  in collaboration with the culture Ministry for the past eight years ,  an Ada crown has been reserved  for each of the  other Igbo speaking states in collaboration with their Culture Ministries  . 

Speculations are, however , rife that  after the change of commissioners by  the Imo State governor ,the new Commissioner for culture  decided to take glory  and claim to be the founder of the AdaImo Pageant ,  dumping discussions   reached with the Adandiigbo organization by her predecessor, brazenly  referring the organization to seek court redress and sue Imo state government . So far, several hush hush discussions are ongoing as even the Grand Patron of the Adandiigbo  organization , Chief Debe Ojukwu, Son of the Biafran Warlord  Ikemba Chukwuemeka Ojukwu , was on hand in Owerri  to try to quell the bad blood brewing as a result of the hijack of the project  and the  organizing of the AdaImo without reference to the Adandiigbo Organization.  He went into so many meetings  at his Disney Hotel suite on ways to solve the Impasse without being  confrontational .

When Interviewed,  the  Creative founder  and current President of the Adandiigbo organization  Mr  Onyechere  MacRobinson  Anele  , smiled and waved off the Insinuations . He remarked that  we are all Igbo’s  and  government changes , we do not have issues only interests , every Administration decides whether   to be  progressives  or not and  has a right to encourage or discourage its citizens  or People  from attaining their peak .More so , even now ,we are still discussing with  the Rochas Administration   on the  real interests .We are not Partisan Politicians , we are youths with different  interests  Hrm  Chiamaka Jennifer Njoku , the Mbaise born winner of the 2012 AdaImo has not handed over yet and we hope she would hand over at the appropriate time .We thank the Imo State Government for their interest in our pageant ,an intellectual  creation  since  2005 ,   for the past eight years ,we wish the sole purpose of joining to promote Igbo culture and Language amongst the girl child  would remain the same and the focus not lost .

 The Port Harcourt based  business man  further  remarked that  as an Imo Indigene, he supported the dreams and aspirations  of the Rochas Administration   not minding the  actions of  government  aides  who have been so  confrontational ,conceited and very unfriendly even to traditional institutions and to our culture  unlike their agreement with our organization to help build the tourism potentials of Imo state ,as well as , other Igbo Speaking States .

Suing the government, as advised by the commissioner , does not help any business man . We are not about to sue Imo state Government  because Rochas did not make those mistakes even one of the commissioners was dropped  after his sins caught up with him and the orderlies of some of the overzealous officers   withdrawn recently , an indication that all their actions were not totally dictated by the Governor .We support the Imo Government and the rescue mission Agenda  and we sincerely apologize to the Ezes and traditional rulers in Imo state on the way their own was treated on the  issue at hand . Our Organisation was not involved in any way in the anomaly  .

The  creation of the Igbo Pageantry has seen  a rekindled interest in Igbo culture by the teeming youths of Igboland , the government and the Parents who have been very supportive by letting thier children participate in the last eight years ,creativity of the Adandiigbo Cultural Pageant , has  over the last few  years modernized  the swag of Speaking Igbo amongst the Igbo youths  of the South Eastern  Nigeria .As well as encouraging youths to go back to their culture .

The Adandiigbo organization Created  Igbo pageantry for the Igbo girl child in 2005 with the Adandiigbo Crown which  has as its sub crowns the AdaImo , AdaAnambra , AdaEnugu , AdaDelta, AdaEbonyi and AdaAbia  , The crew  of the State Adas  in company of the SA on Igbo Affairs played a significant role in the   other ethnic Nationalities has in the past worked with the Adandiigbo Organisation to get a responsible home grown ethnic pageant .The Pageant has apart from training and improving several youths embarked on so many projects that has touched the lives of different individuals through philanthropic  gestures . As well as built passionately curious individuals that have contributed to building bridges across Ethnic nationalities.    

AdaImo   Winners  that have been outstandingly different   in the past include ;HRM  Ogechi Munonye of Ideato   , HRM  Onyeka Odimegwu of Orsu who also won the Adandiigbo  crown same year ,  HRM  Chigozie  Ake  of Agwa in Oguta   ,HRM Jennifer Chiamaka Njoku  of Mbaise who is still reigning as AdaImo and is due for Handover in November 2013..
