Please Support EstellaCourture's Birthday Giveback To Charity!

Estella says...
At the age of 14, my mother took me and my kid brothers to a Motherless Babies' Home [Orphanage] in Kano, to celebrate my birthday with the orphan kids. That experience totally changed my life at that young age to understand that I may have had a rich home and loving parents, but not every kid had that. I then made a vow to dedicate my life to helping the less privileged.

July 21st this year, I will be 41 years old. So, I want to spend that time volunteering officially in an orphanage. God has been good to me in my life. I cherish every opportunity I've had to be a blessing to the life of other people. This has been a dream, to spend a month of my life in volunteering at an organization. This would be the best Birthday Gift ever! .

I call this my '14-41 Kids Project'.

This year, I do NOT WANT any gift or birthday wish from anyone, all I want is to spend these 4 weeks of my life, in an orphanage, (cut off from business, career, phones, internet, friends, family), just absolute selfless dedication to working in an orphanage as a volunteer.
I hope you can support and fund my project. Your contribution will take care of my Registration fees, program fees and gift items for the kids.

Even if you cannot spare a time to do this type of work, do support all and any volunteer you can.

Thank you.
Sincerely
Estella Ogbonna

  4. Wow! I am just seeing this. Stella, thanks for the post. Much appreciated.

Oh boy! Your readers' comments I know are gonna come hard. I better log out. lol. Per the person that asked the question why I am making it public.... it is because experience has shown me that there are so many people who want to help, but don't know how to! or where to!
Some people will not initiate things but will support those that do initiate. i saw this clearly when I organized FASHION FOR JOS (
    https://www.facebook.com/FashionForJos
)for the genocide victims in Jos. So many people (not just Nigerians stepped out to support the cause and we touched lives in Jos).

I can do this all by myself, but why NOT do it with my friends as a collective effort!?
I guess i am too excited to be accepted into the IVHQ program! This is a dream come true!
My (S)Hero has always been Mother Theresa [I wanted to be a Rev. Sister, but my mum said no! lol #OnlyDaughterTings]. So, I get a chance to live my dreams for 4 weeks.

One thing to check off my of "Things To Do Before I die' list. :-)

I Hope you all support! Even a pencil, crayon, coloring book with your name on it, to add a smile to the face of a orphan should give you that deep-belly joy that you can't explain!

    Bless you!

  5. Estella anyone that knows you or does research will know that your Fashion For Jos raised awareness and food and clothing for many people that were in need. The best part of blogging is reading comments but sometimes I wonder if people even re-read what they wrote.

In the US alone, how many organizations do celebrities fundraiser for and openly ask for contributions, support, volunteer and/or donations. Sometimes just spreading the word is can even greater contribution to share with others...

Anyway it's all in good spirit & this is just another stepping stone for a greater cause...

    Thank you for doing you
